The story is about a boy and a girl, who broke up awhile ago. They still talk and the boy still has feelings for the girl, but the girl doesn't feel the same way. (1st verse). She doesn't know that she likes him, or fully knows how he feels about her but the boy can't find it in himself to tell her the truth.
In the chorus the boys singing. He's tihnking of all the things he could be doing with her, and believes that he doenst know what she's missing,. and that he's having a blast, but wants to share that time with her, whos missing out.
they boy now thinks that the girl is trying to forget him, that she isn't over, but she's trying her hardest to forget all those times (2nd verse), and that simply, she could forget him.
2nd chorus same as 1st.
the big sing along at the end is showing how mixed up about all this he is. They still talk, and she's sorta down, but he stil wants her to have fun since "its the weekend". althought he still tihnks she's missing out, he wants her to forget him, since maybe its just better off that way, and itd make things simpler, even though he knows hell still care.

"They still talk and the boy still has feelings for the girl, but the girl doesn't feel the same way."
I don't agree with that. I think its a song about a guy and a girl who were both in a relationship but for some reason (for example long distance) They can't be together. Which is why he says "And I wish you weren't worth the wait". The girl doesn't dislike the boy because the lyrics say "Just think of this" which means she doesn't think of it. And he's telling her to forget him, its that simple. I think "I don't think that you know what you've been missing" actually means everything else she will miss out on without the relationship. That's why he then tells her to "Have fun its the weekend." If he really liked her that much then she wouldn't tell her to forget him if he thinks she doesn't know what she's missing. The lyrics would then say "Don't forget me, you don't know what you're missing." That's just my interpretation.

this was once such a pure love,so simple and so sure. The girl decides she would rather spend time with her friends drinking and having fun and leaves her boy to sit alone and wonder what he did wrong. She puts him on the shelf along with all the other things that used to matter to her. But he still remembers the love they used to share and is still so in love with her, which is why he waishes she wasn't worth waiting for, knowing that things would never be the same again.. And I don't think that you know what you've been missing...He's trying to make her remember the fun they used to have, and the romance they shared, the marks she put on his neck for fun. He could make it obvious that this is killing him but he knows it would just push her away even farther and she'd become cold towards him and shrug him off... and I don't think that you know what you've been missing...Hey lush have fun its the weekend.. The weekend refers to their "break-up". He's saying, since we're apart have your fun, but it'll all be over soon and you'll regret what you've left behind.. forget me, its that simple- stop leading me on, either love me and let me in or forget me, its that simple!!

The song is about a relationship that ended and the girl didn't appreciate their best times together and so he's telling her to just forget about him and everything coz it's that easy for her.

In my opinion. The boy and girl were together and the girl didn't realize how much this boy loved her. So he writes this song telling the girl to just add this to her shelfs because maybe she didn't know what he really felt. when he says "I dare you to forget those marks you left across my neck" and "those nights we were both found at our best." maybe those nights were the only nights she was sober and she's missing out on being inlove and being with someone who cares so in this song he's kinda letting her go in a way. yes it seems like he's still head over heals for her but he's realizing he will always be waiting for her but he slowly has to let go of what they had.

this is a great song with a lot of emotion. its about a breakup where the guy is still in love and the girl has put it behind her-on the shelf. he wants her to realize that she is missing out on him but she shruggs him of her shoulder. he realizes they had some hard times and fights-the marks u left across my neck, found at our best. he doesnt want to give up and doesnt understand why she doesnt know what shes missing. he shows resentment at the end with the "forget me its that simple" i believe that to be what she said to him. "hey lush, have fun its the weekend"-his sarcastic remark to her for going out and not having a care.
