In my opinion, this song is about two people who fall in love, but the rest of the world doesnt think they are right for eachother.
Verse one-
"elevator buttons in morning air ... My time is theirs" They may have an inside joke, about something like that, and at that time, he wasnt there, but she was reminded of him and knows that if he was there, they would be laughing about their vacant stares. (basically, they have an inside joke or same sense of humour and she knows that if he was there in the elevator with her, they would be laughing about the strangers.)
"seems like there's always someone who dissaproves ... " means that there's always, no matter where they are, someone who doesnt want them to be together
"the jurys out, but my choice is you" is saying that she's not going to listen to what other people are saying, she's gonna follow her heart and chose what she really wants instead.
Chorus - is telling the boy not to worry, that people throw rocks at things that shine (meaning that people always try to ruin nice things, such as their relationships) and that love may seem hard, but it's not, and that the journey may be hard along the way, and the water may be rough, but they have eachother.
Verse two - is saying you never know what people are going to do from getting what they want (ruining their relationship) but who cares, because right now, he's hers
Verse three - "and its not theirs to speculate .." is saying that Their love isnt for other people to comment on, a d that she belongs with him, and that that she'll fight for them.
"I love the gap between your teeth .." is saying that she loves everything about him, even the imperfections.
"any snide remarks from my father .." means that she will ignore the comments of someone she loves very much, because she also loves him very much. -

It's about falling in love with a guy that people are deciding isn't the one for you. You don't listen to them, though, and you'll love him for who he is, even if everyone else doesn't.

I personally think that this song is about her and a guy, but the everyone says they arnt right for eachother and shouldn't be together.
It is saying that don't listen to what others say, and that any guy you think is special should be with you.
No matter what anyone does they will be together and not care. -

This was a stolen song and Cheryl Wilson wrote it and others that are claimed to be written by people that are infringing on the true authors right of enjoyment....and it is obvious they are lying so they are liars and will be found out...so should come clean and stop taking credit for writting lyrics that you did not write.

It's not about the person she's singing about, it's the meaning.
The song is about forbidden love, love that if it ever existed, would cause trouble. It's about how love is too special to be stopped, too special to be disrupted because of some petty arguments or something. -

I think it's about a relationship that everyone says isn't right when it really is. It's about stay with the person whose meant for you no matter what others throw at you.
No matter what they say. No matter what they do to stop you it's about stay by the person your suppose to be with. And having faith. -

This song is about her and a guy being in love, when everyone dissapproves, but they don't care because they love eachother. "Seems like there's always someone who dissaproves" means that wherever they go it seems as if people are against them being together. "So dont you worry your pretty little mind, people throw rocks at things that shine and life makes love look hard" means that people are putting them down but it's only because they have such a great relationship and others dont want them to be together. "And it's not their's to speculate if it's wrong",is saying that even if it were wrong, it's not other's place to judge because it's their relaationship. And even though he's a little rough around the edges she belongs with him.( "and your hands are tough but they are where mine belong"). When she says "Never know what people have up their sleeves, ghosts from your past gonna jump out at me" She means that people might try to tell her about things he's done in the past to try to break them apart. But she reassures him that it doesn't matter by saying "But I don't care; cause right now your mine" The lyric "But they can't take what's ours" means that no matter how much people judge and tell them they can't be together or try to break them up they can't because it's their relationship and they really love eachother so what others think is unimportant.

i think this song is about a love between two that no one approves of, they dont even give the couple a chance, and if they did they would understand but these two ignored what the people said and love kept them together.

Ours is a song about two people falling in love, but someone else doesnt want them together. The song is sweet, cute, with a really simple, relatable point to it. No matter what happens, no matter who your going to date, there's always gonna be someone who disapproves, but you should follow your heart and dont listen to that person if he's what you really want, that's the overall message of this song. The moral would be to listen to what you want to do and don't let other people try and change it.

I think she's trying to say that people are going to doubt your relationship, but in the end, the only opinion that matters is you and your partner's. Cause she's right, the love is both of theirs and no one else's. Love can be surprising <3.
