Well, it's about her being in love with her best friend Drew, for what seems like a long time, but she's never had the courage to tell him everything, but then he tells her he's met someone and that after all the bad relationships he's had he thinks this one is love as he says he's "finally got it right". As she writes songs late at night the tears wont stop, even when she's playing guitar he's on her mind thats why she says that "he's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar" knowing she might of missed her final chance to let him know exactly how she feels about him. She fakes smiles around him because it's difficult to be around him when she's hurting so much.

well this song seems to explain itself. as it says a girl is in love with her best friend but she cannot muster up the courage to tell him. it pains her heart when she sees him with another girl because she cares deeply for him. she basically has to put on a facade around him to hide her true feelings.
