Taylor Swift: The Lucky One Meaning
Song Released: 2012
The Lucky One Lyrics
Chasing fortune and fame.
And the camera flashes, make it look like a dream.
You had it figured out since you were in school.
Everybody loves pretty, everybody loves cool.
So overnight you...

In my view this song is all about the evolution(rise) of Taylor swift n the pressure she's facing now with her growing fame.

I think she is singing about Shania Twain who left when her name was in the lights and she had several hits that crossed genre lines and could be heard on all radio stations. was She had a Red and a Green UP album. She got married and moved to Europe for about 5 years to care for her baby and family. Now Taylor is the country star that crosses genre lines and is heard on all stations. She has matched Shania's success and now envies her escape.

I think it basically says that Taylor is really starting to feel the pressure of her fame.

I think this is about many people who were famous but then become less famous. I think THE Lucky One is Joni Mitchell. She was famous and she was decent. She was during the Vietnamese war which involved a lot of politics. She was "New to a town with a made up name in the ANGEL CITY" Angle city is the translation of Los Angeles which happens to be where people are "chasing fortune and fame". She didn't like the life of Hollywood and fled back to Canada. She "took the money and [her] diganity and got the heck out! The say [she] bought a bunch of land some where, chose the rose garden over Madison Square" meaning she took the money and fled back to Canada and chose the peaceful life instead of the life of a famous person.

She used to think that people were lucky if they were famous, and it's what she wanted. But now she is famous and has her name up in lights, she understands that its not all what she thought.

This song is about Taylor's rise to fame and as most do wondering what would happen if you chose a different path.

It's about one of the Kennedy women, maybe even Maria. Choosing rose garden over madison square is what makes me think that. I think it is about admiration. Rumors are that it could be about Monroe, but the ending doesn't make sense with that. But, Swift does like to change endings (Love Story anyone?) so who knows. It's a really nice song.

I think The Lucky One is about when you wish you were famous and up in the spotlight. But then once you get it, you wish you could turn back at times and just be a normal person. But once your'e put in the spotlight there's no turning back. That's when you realize it wasn't as great as you thought it would be. That you were already The Lucky One.

she's telling you that you should be proud of who your are, don't wish you were anyone else! :D don't even wish you were cool/pretty/ or even famous!

i believe this song is about before fame you think your missing out and are wishing you could be them... but if you know someone famous they would tell you your lucky when u dont think so ... but when the spots change you would finally understand its hard being the one in the spotlight and you wish you could go back to being the nobody you used to hate.
