Well, it was definitely written by Robert to capture the whole feeling he had in New Orleans. I use it to keep my mind open when heading into a new situation.

From a psychological viewpoint I find these lyrics very interesting. to me opening time down on fascination street could be the characters resignation of someone fucking with him or picking him apart.
