   My interpretation personally is he is in love with fridays because he gets to see his girl and fridays he gets to see her all dressed up to her eyes and hes in love with friday the week because he spend all his time with his girl thats my interpretation and the other weeks may have some pressure on him like days being grey and black or blue but when friday comes hes in love

   This song was made on a bet: that robert couldn't write yet another pop-y upbeat yet trite HIT.
   Take a look into the real history of the band - "Oo Oh that's groovey" featuring frank the milkman was the first of these types of dare/bet songs by the band.
   
   While there are some subtle poetic nods to the "Monday's child" fortune-telling nursery rhyme, the small allegories are entirely about the top-40 public/ record publishers /radio media personalities "eating up/dancing to" whatever a published band would throw at them: "just smiling at the sound [note: not the music, but the mere sounds]"
   "you can never get enough, enough of this Stuff [Stuff in british can mean bullsh*t/poppycock]".

   I think it's commenting on the societies acceptance, and often encouragement of womanising. Ever heard of the saying "I've got a girl for each day of the week"? I believe each "day" is referring to a different girl. Read over the lyrics now, you'll see :)

   I think this song is written about a girl named Friday. Just seems like to much of a beautiful song to be written about a day of the week, even if it is friday.
