This song is about a street in Cali where Jim Morrison and his girlfriend Pam used to lay back and watch the hippies pass by.

The first anonymous had a good theory but I'm a little disappointed that mine was completely dismissed w/o comment. Again, anonymous (if that is your real name) okay job I guess. I'm just not convinced jm had as mundane (and lame) a focus as your interpretation seems to suggest. The guy had hundreds if not thousands of chicks for free. Not sure he was about to write a song about one night/whore at the red-light district. What about the whole god-man-satan concept? Not even conceivable to one as noble and uncowardly as a poster idedntified (truthfully?) as "anonymous"?

Come on: try again.

Or else get the hell outa here you doofus.

[mods: just trying to jump-start the guy's brain here; and what's w/allowing "anonymous" posters? They are most often pedophiles, or sympaticos therewith.] ;)

Ir's about Pam and the junkies she always had around. She was a heroin junkie. Hint Monkeys and Flunkies. And the person was right about him watching the hippies walk by. It was Love street.

Okay I could be TOTALLY wrong on this...but Love Street was just a silly name he was using for where Pam Courson lived...and "she" is Pam...and the junkies/flunkies/monkies are the men she always had around her... remember they had a pretty open relationship in the beginning (when he wrote the song)

She has robes and she has monkeys
(monkeys as in men like Tom Baker and a couple of other men that she can con into doing anything she wants...sex, drugs...whatever)

Lazy diamond studded flunkies
(lazy diamond studded flunkie could be the guy that she was still seeing..the Count?? hence the lazy, because he didn't do anything to deserve the money or the drugs, and he's diamond studded b/c he's got the money)

She has wisdom and knows what to do
She has me and she has you
(she knows exactly what she's doing and she's got us both under her spell...)

again, I could be TOTALLY off, but I just thought it was an interesting little interpretation of it??
