Shaman’s Blues to me was a story of love. It was called shaman’s blues because Jim was known as a shaman and was dating a girl before his career launched but it was an open relationship. “There will never be another one like you, there will never be anyone who can do the things you do. Will you give another chance, will you try a little try?” means to give love one more chance because the both of them together are one of a kind. Most of the song goes on explaining how there love was great and that if you try hard enough you’ll see why. One of the closing of lines “you’ll be dead in hell before I’m born” leaves you wondering whether Morrison intended this song to be a tale of giving love as many shots as possible or could it be that you can try to end how many times you want but in the end it will never mean anything to him, because sure there won't be another one like you but there could be someone better.
