Haven't you ever seen someone with such incredible talent that you never want to see them be distracted (by a girl etc) It's obviously a homage to a talented person form the perspective of admirers

1.) the killers are from las vegas ok there done done. 2.) brandon is bisexual ok not gay not straight bisexual!! 3.) its not about stalking it's about brandon, he had a crush on a guy in high school who's name is andy and he was a football player and he liked him that's it. Thus "on the field I remeber you where incredible." there those are the facts ok don't not belive anything else.

That not withstanding, Brandon wrote this song knowing that he, a man, would be performing it, and there are distinct ambiguities in the context. Also, I think we can pretty much all agree that Andy is a football star, and if we follow that logic its not unreasonable to assume that the locker that is referred to is a GYM locker; something that only another guy would have access to. I'll admit I'm rather inclined to believe that the narrator is gay and after Andy, haha. I love the gays.

1. "In the car with the girl promise me she's not you're world". If the singer IS a girl then that means she's a lesbian right? 2. "Andy you're a star in nobody's eyes but mine". Ok now don't try telling me the singer hates Andy or is jealous of him because obviously Andy is a star in the singer's eyes. 3. "Leave your number on my locker and I'll give you a call". Self explanatory. Ok. So I'm not saying Mr. Flowers is gay by no means. I think artists can sing whatever they'd like about whomever they'd like. I think this is a great song. But please. The narrator is clearly gay. CLEARLY.

2) Andy could possibly be a girl. (The song is not nessisarily about a football star) 3) What makes you think Branden wrote the song. It could have easily been written by Ronnie, Dave, Mark or even some writer. 4) Branden is married 5) Who cares if he is gay

'In a car with a girl, promise me she's not your world Cause Andy, you're a star' She tries to convince him only she thinks he's special and everyone else is really against him. This is my interpretation, it could just be generalised to stalking someone and the sotry about Andy just represents this.

I'll briefly sum them up for you. 1) Brandon's married to a woman. 2) He admitted in an interview that the song is about his high school crush on a guy. He [Brandon] was questioning his sexuality. Bradon assures his audiences that he is straight. 3) The crush's name is Andy Messersmith. That is all.

The lines On the field I remember you were incredible Hey shut up, hey shut up, yeah imply both animosity and envy. Andy is clearly involved in some kind of sport, most likely football. More key are the words "Hey shut up", which many chalk up to rejection. If we continue reading, we shall explore how these contrast with the rest of the song. On the match with the boys, you think you're all alone With the pain that you drain from love In a car with a girl, promise me she's not your world Cause Andy, you're a star The animosity grows to a fever pitch in this stanza. The lines practically drip with venom, accusing Andy of being both self-centered and sadistic. These are not the words of a spurned lover, but rather the words of a furious man. He continues that he wants nothing more than separation between Andy and this mystery girl in the car. Perhaps it is the object of his affection, perhaps the speaker here simply loathes Andy and everything he stands for. This remains a mystery. Leave your number on the locker and I'll give you a call Hey shut up, hey shut up, yeah Leave your legacy in gold on the plaques that line the hall Hey shut up, hey shut up, yeah "Hey shut up" appears again, but this is mixed with "leave your number on the locker and I'll give you a call". This could be a quote or a recited response. The third line, however, brings us back to the theme of hatred, with a chiding comment about how Andy's achievements are limited to the first eighteen years of his life. Nobody will remember him besides those who pass the plaques upon the walls of his school. Finally, we reach a downright baffling change in the direction of the song. The final few lines shift all the stardom into the speaker's view alone. Cause Andy, you're a star In nobody's eyes but mine Andy, you're a star In nobody's eyes but mine The fury that had been built so carefully throughout the song takes on an entirely different meaning. All pretense of sarcasm is dropped, and the speaker candidly admits that he wants what Andy has. Nobody, he reasons, could possibly think higher of Andy. Andy is his hero, a man who has accomplished the speaker's every dream at the speaker's expense. It is possible that this is Flowers himself speaking to a figure in his past. While Flowers is making millions and is celebrated by hundreds of thousands, he still envies a high school footballer who won everything he wanted in the past.
