Johnny Ramone had "stolen" Joey Ramones girlfriend Linda and Johnny had married her. This is supposivley why Joey wrote the song. Joey and Johnny both had strong political views as well, Joey was a liberal while Johnny was a Conservative. Joey and Johnny never made up.

Okay, whoever said that Johnny tried to apologize and Joey wouldn't accept it, during the final days of his battle with lymphoma is an idiot. Johnny said himself that he had been fighting with Joey for like 15 years. No point in making it up now.
