It's about love. "It's a feeling that you cannot miss, and it burns a hole through everyone that feels it" Love can be so hurtful sometimes, and yet it can be the greatest thing in the world.

"Should've done something but I've done it enough by the way your hands were shaking rather waste some time with you." This part still confuses me. maybe he had to go somewhere or do something that she doesn't like but he's tired of doing it and so he wants to only be with her.

I know this song is about Quinn and Bert's relationship. This song is about a really deep relationship. I think the only way you will get this song is if you have a relationship with a friend that is very deep.

It's about a relationship between two people. No one knows how it truley starts (where the light exists). If you have this type of relationship you positively know about it, there is no way you can confuse the feeling with something else. This song is about love, but love of his girlfriend Kate who died carrying his child on a drug overdose. "In Love and Death" CD, Bert says, "no matter how much I ever told myself that I wasn't writing songs about you ALL THE TIME I really was snd will miss you forever, Kate," so when Bert says "it's all when how you mix the two" he's talking about drugs and how it feels and how it burns a whole through people. "You never would have thought in the end how amazing if feels just to live again" he used to be and addict but cleaned up and he is telling her how amazing it is to live again. and the feeling is so great as well as her feeling on drugs.when he says "should of done something but I've done it enough, by the way your hands were shaking rather wastes some time with you" he is saying she should helped more but he has enough and she didn't listen, her hands are shaking because she is on drugs and all we wants to do is waste time with her but she is gone. I think that this song sould be about a number of things. I agree with the interpretation that it's about Quinn and Bert's friendship.

The last interpretation said that it was about his ex-girlfriend Kate. I disagree with that even though its a good idea because this song was on their self-titled album, which was released when she was still alive. He wrote that about her in the thank-yous in the newer album, "In Love And Death"

The song ISN'T about Kate. Those of you who know your "Used" history know that Bert was not dating Kate at that time (though they were friends)P but was in fact dating the ugly, the chubby, Kelly Osbourne.

He dated her for a long while (they were named "ugliest couple"), and the song is about Bert and Quinn's friendship and how, as the band grew popular, they began to fall apart. This was Bert's appology for that and him telling that no matter what he always would rather have been around Quinn then pursuing the rock star life. More of a never ending friendship promise that will always be immortalized.

Alright, let me get this through your heads. This song IS about BERT and QUINN's friendship. NOT ABOUT KATE! Bert and Kate didn't go out until after this record was even made. Bert was going out with Kelly Osbourne. So how can he write a song about a girl that didn't die by that yet? It maskes perfect sense that it's about Bert and Quinn, not Bert and Kate. Get facts right, if you don't know, look it up.

What I believe it means is tat the relationship is basically over and he has tried everything but he has done it enough. And he knows it hurts you but he knows tat it cannot be fixed so all he wants to do is be around you even though you aren't together. And in the end when your heart heals its the best feeling but you can't have tat feeling if your looking for it.

It's not about kate. Its about his friendship with the beautiful quinn. Heard it straight from the mouth...

bert was the last to join the band and when he did he was crzy wacked on drugs and acted like a jackass, quinn hated him and in turn bert hated quinn back. But them something happened and quinn was there for bert for it, and thus they became best friends which is where they are at today

This song could be about anything to anyone who hears it. He didn't write it so everyone could think about him and quinn when they hear it.
Since it was originally written about Bert and Quinn I must admit it most surly isn't about Kate.
But this song is about love...Bert and Quin love each other. The song is not gender specific so it could be about a couple who almost lost each other but found each other again through the hardtimes.
So before you proove anyone wrong think about it people, cause it seems there are just some close-minded people in here.

ok this might sound stupid but its what I believe and I think you people are thinking to much about this. Ok, basically, its a love song he falls in love and loves the girl so much that he doesn't want to hurt her in anyway (should've done something but I'd done it enough) he means yelling at her or threatening to break up with her. (by the way you hands were shaking rather waste my time with you) ok this part is about him not wanting to break up with her and she knows he's gonna because she did something wrong and knows he found out so heres this girl her she so scared to lose this guy that her hand are shaking and this guy can't break up with her because he really loves her. He says he'll waste his time with her because he knows these things will keep happening but they'll get through it eventually.

I was watching a concert. &he said 'This song is called blue and yellow and it's about love'. Maybe it's about love in the way of a friendship. I dunno. But that's what he says.

This song makes me cry (it remembers me of my ex-boyfriend, the way I see it it's about love but I don't know what Bert was thinking when he wrote it you know what I mean?

This song for the millionth time IS NOT ABOUT KATE whatsoever, for those of you who consider yourself "true" Used you should know Bert wasn't even dating Kate yet, and he wrote the song about his friendship with Quinn.

I read an interview and Bert said that the song was about Bert and Quinn's relationship.
I'm pretty sure the writer of the song would not be wrong about his answer.
therefore all of those people saying its not about their friendship are wrong.
