I think this song is about Bert loving some girl and maybe him trying to say sorry for all the things he said or did to her and him wanting her back.

I believe this song is about the infamous Kate everyone believes "Blua and Yellow" is about, but they are wrong. THIS song is about her and how he's sorry. Because he quit drugs, and she is on them and "As I left her far behind and knew the world was crashing down around her", and "Cause baby I'm not alright when you go" refers to when she gets high she's not the same. Also he balmes himself for being on drugs which explains "Let me save us I've slaughtered us I've murdered our love"

I'm probably not exactly right, but it sounds good to me, so that's what I think.

I think It's about getting in a fight/ breaking up with someone, but not meaning it................
"I sink now to the ocean floor because I know that we are more but , I've made this mess"
He knows he's in love with that person but he may have left them out of anger
"I made this mess, I built this fire, Are you still mine?"
........asking for them back, maybe??.....
then with the "please be all mine"
What it sounds like to me

Tbh I think that Bert wrote this song bout his wife
and how hard it was to c her go
"I almost heard her cry as I left her far behind"
but he also wants to move on its just hard
"baby I'm not alright wen you go I'm not fine"
