First off, I think it needs to be said that this is a cover of a Dolly Parton song, but I think Jack may have purposely wanted this to have a bisexual undertone to it.

Basically it's just about someone pleading Jolene not to take their man away from them, because they know she is perfectly capable of doing so.

It's also implied that Jolene would only be motivated to take him away for her own sexual needs, but the singer is actually in love with him, which is why she doesn't want him to leave.

Jolene is slang and means cocaine.

I don't think that this is what Dolly had in mind when she did the song, but I think that when Jack did it, he was the guys dog. There is panting at the beginning of the song, and as he is the guy's dog, his entire life revolves around him.

The dog is understandably worried that his master will choose Jolene over him. The only hope he has is that Jolene will have mercy on him!

Uh? since when has jolene been slang for cocaine?
Never heard that one..
I think this song is pretty much what the lyrics say, that 'jolene' is beautiful (a reference to his wife, 'flaming locks of auburn hair') and the singer is scared because she could easily take her man, and she knows her man is begining to feel the same way ('he talks about you in his sleep')
