This song starts out with a young girl happy with her life, dancing around in a circle. This shows them as one big happy family. When her parents leave the man with the sweater comes in and she has no one else so she trusts him. It shows the girl's parents with tape over their eyes to show that they can't see the pain she is going through. The woman being taken by the nurses is the little girl as a woman. She is being brought into an insane asylum because the pain of the days when the sweater man had molested her were too painful and brought her to try and commit suicide. The hands that are holding the woman down are the molester's hands because what he did brought her there. It keeps showing the little girl and they are the memories of the woman's innocence of childhood and how it was taken away. The black hand prints you see show that she was touched everywhere by the sweater man because you see the black ink on his hands. The winged man attacking the sweater man is not a demon as so many others have stated. He is her guardian angel and is attacking the molester (or sweater man) to protect her. As the guardian angel wins feathers start to fall on both the little girl and the woman showing that she is free from this memory of the molester. The woman walks away, smiling, not held down anymore because her guardian angel has freed her.

The video shows a girls past haunting her and taking over her life. It's driving her crazy and she feels so depressed. The song's about trying to save someone and trying to save yourself from your demons. How every day is a battle to live but its not to late to turn your life around.

I think this song is about a little girl who was abused when she was younger. You noticed her parents left her in the beginning and another man came out. Whatever he did to her, it made her go insane. The guy with the wings was a demon. You also noticed the black palm prints on the wall, and the guy had black paint on his hands, which most likely meant that he was her demon.

I love this song. And the way I interpreted it was that you can't predict what will happen in life, and sometimes it doesn't turn out how you hoped. Sometimes so many bad things happen, that you feel like you need to get out, but that's not the answer. It's not too late, meaning you can make things better. The video, she's feeling guilty. So it's saying it's not to late to fix the things that you have done wrong. At least, that's what I think.

This is a really deep song...It is based on actual events of one of Adam's friends. It's about a girl who was molested as a child and the events have haunted her ever since. She tries to erase the memories, but the darkness stays with her. She gets depressed and tried to end her life, but Adam tries to support her. Her parents don't think that anything has happened, so the girl has nowhere to go. She finally kills herself.

The video is about a woman who was molested by someone she trusted as a child and when she's being moved by the nurses she's looking back on her innocence and how it was stolen from her. The hands that are holding her down are her fathers...shes in the insane asylum because she has tried to kill herself. The anger is her and she's killing her demon or the mans soul and setting herself free. The parents who are dancing in a circle have the tape over their eyes because they were blind through their daughters pain.

This song is about being in a very dark place, but being able to see a way out. In the video the girl is trying to set herself free from her inner demons after realizing that suicide isn't the way to do it. It's really sad because the parents who are dancing in a circle with the little girl have the tape over their eyes because they were blind through their daughters pain but she found comfort in a friend who told her 'It's never too late.'

From watching the video I think the song is about a girl who was molested by the man in the red sweater, which seemed to be like a father or step father. The guy with the black wings in NOT a demon, its her guardian angel. Her older self was having flash backs as they were tying her down in the nut house of the times that he molested her. The black hand prints are a metaphor of the fact that she was touched everywhere by him. At the end you see the black winged man fighting with her "father" trying to protect her, and as his feathers from his wings fall down on her, it is telling her that she is safe now because he defeated the father.
"Even if I say it'll be alright, still I hear you say you want to end your life"
"The world we knew, won't come back. The time we've lost, can't get back. The life we had, won't be ours again."
I can relate to this song and its video because that happened to me when I was younger, and its so true. No matter what anyone tells you, it will never be alright inside. Everything that you were you aren't because you are forever scared from it. Your life changes and your not the same person, and the time it takes to somewhat recover, if you ever do, you will never ever get back.

I've heard a lot of interpretations and I've agreed with many of them. I belivee that the song means that no matter how bad your life was, there is a way you can get out of it; like a way to "start over". At the begining of the video, the little girl is happy with her parents, who have no clue of her upcoming pain (the tape over their eyes), until the man in the sweater comes. The older woman in the mental asylum is the grownup "version" of the younger child. She was there because she had tried to kill herself (commit suicide) because of what the man in the sweater did to her. The black hand prints are showing how much that man molested the girl. The black "angel" (this is misunderstood by many) is the girl's guardian, protecting her from the man with the black paint on his hands (the guy with the sweater), fighting him to keep the girl safe. Once the man was defeated, black feathers fall onto the woman's bed showing her that she was safe (also noticed she was no longer strapped down)and telling her everything will be alright and "its not too late, its never too late". At the very end of the video, she gets up and walks away smiling because her guardian had defeated the man in the sweater, and she realized that it "wasn't too late".

I've heard people mention the hand prints....if you pay close attention there is a hand print in black high on the little girls thigh....supporting the theory of molestation....This song is very realistic....Excellent writing and the video was haunting.

I think all your answers are along the right track but the guy with the black feathers is not a demon he is trying to help her.

I agree mostly with what is said here:

However, I would say that the angel with the black wings is not her guardian angel. I think it represents the angel of death. She sees death as an escape from her past. Death defeats those memories or frees her from them. That would explain why she is in the mental institution, she is suicidal because she feels it is the only way out from those memories. This doesn't really explain why she got up out of the hospital bed and walked towards the camera in the end though. Perhaps she was tied down so that they could lethally inject her or something? Meaning she got what she wanted and death did save her from her memories. The also explains the black feathers falling on her in the end.
I don't believe that the man in the sweater is her father. I believe he is an uncle or something because it shows the little girl dancing around with her parents. You will notice that, at a point in the video, they have tape over their eyes, suggesting that they are blind to what is going on.

The song is, as many people have stated, about a woman who, as a child, was molested by the man in the sweater. In the music video, it shows two doctors with bandages over their eyes, which symbolizes that the two doctors (Most likely her parents) are blind to her pain and what has happened. The woman is taken to an insane asylum because she tried to commit suicide due to the gruesome memories that the man left her with. Towards the end of the music video, you see the man in the sweater with black paint on his hand, symbolizing the terrible deed that he has committed. The man with wings most likely symbolizes her guardian angel or, more possibly, her virginity due to the fact that in the earlier times, they used to call it "De-feathering" when you lost your virginity.

mmm I'd heard that this song's about Adam's little sister that she gave up and tried to kill herself but he tried to support her. She ended in an insane asylum because she didn`t stop cutting herself.

I think the black angel is representing her fears and pain (the black wings became part of her, as you notice earlier in the video); and as both the black man and the molester fight with eath other, she ends up being free of both; as she walks away from the feathers. I think this ending bit symbolizes her freedom from her past.

The little girl dancing with her parents i think is the life that the parents thought they had , but the bandages over there eyes show they did not realize what was happening to her.She was obviously touched by the (sweater man).It was in fact the memory of this man and what he did that caused her to try to commit suicide and was holding her in the institution.Hiding under the bed as a little girl and then being found was her hiding from what had happened instead of dealing with the trauma. The butterfly was an apiphany that began the process of dealing with what happened to her which is why i think when the man had his hand on her shoulder as a little girl, she decides to move away from him and leave him behind.I may be way off on this but i feel the blackened angel is HER because as a little girl she had the black wings that i think show when she began to be molested. It was her that was fighting the (sweater man) or the memory of him,and the falling black feathers were her sheding the evil that held her for many years. If you noticed, the black feathers began to fall when she moved away from the (sweater man) touching her shoulder. Walking away from the bed and smiling was the begining of her recovery. God be with anyone this has happened to.

this song... its so touching. he sings how you can't give up hope, that no matter what happens, you can always turn back and start again. you shouldn't just give up on life. you need to realize that its "not to late, its never too late". no matter what kinda crap you go through, you cant give up. u need to keep going. move on. if someone tries to put you down, don't listen to them. there speaking crap. you need to realize that its not too late.
