   I think this song is about a girl who started out her life, as all children do, in innocence, but too soon, something happened that shattered her worldview and made her realize that she is a prisoner in a world that is a lot darker than she realized. In response, she sunk into despair and hatred, and although she tried to fight it, she became just as cruel as the world around her was.

   I think it's about a girl who goes along in life in all innocence... But one day she realizes that she's chained to an image and no one will see who else she is. She starts to go through a metamorphisis, and discover who she really is but no one accepts her. They're afraid of her shadow and refuse to see that the good in her balances out perfectly. She gets hurt by their rejection and slips into anger and despair, until she finally discovers who she is without caring about what others think.
