Actually, this song is just about 9/11 and the firefighter and other heroes who saved people and helped out.

This song is obviously about 9/11 on a surface level because it states, "Again today, we take into our hearts and minds those who perished on this site one year ago, and also those who came to toil in the rubble to bring order out of chaos, to help us make sense of our despair", and "Think about the heroes saving life in the dark". On a deeper level, this song could have a higher purpose. It says "Thank you for giving up your life that day" and "But you still came back for me" both of which could have a religious tone.

This song is obviously about september 11th. The lyrics "climbin' higher/ through the fire/ time was runnin out/ never knowing you weren't going to to be coming down alive" is about the fire fighters climbing the twin towers, never knowing that they weren't going to make it out alive. "but you still came back for me/ you were stron and you believed" is about the fire fighter's encouragement and courage to the people they were saving. I love this song so much and I'm so glad they wrote it.

This song is about the violinist of yellowcard... He was trapped in one of the towers on 9/11... The lyrics... 'everything is gonna be alright, everything is gonna be alright' are repeated over and over as that's what the firefighter said. The firefighter died that day as the tower collapsed, and yellowcard made this song as a tribute and sent special copies to all the fire departments in ny. It was never meant to be a sad song, more a memorial, we have to uphold their memories type song.

The song has pieces from Mayor Bloomberg about 9/11, which everyone has noticed, but it also ends with the Gettysburg Address, which I'm shocked so many people missed. To me those two quotes, along with the general tone of the song makes it about remembering those who gave their lives for the greater good and believing that their sacrifice was worth it. So the song is saying yes, people died and it will make so many people sad, but they had a purpose they were willing to die for and no one should take that for granted.

Sean Mackin, the violinist was in one of the twin towers on 911, and a fireman helped him out. as he was helped down the stairs, the fireman said "everything is gonna be alright, everything is gonna be alright, everything is gonna be alright, be strong believe" which is the chorus of the song. the fireman went back up into the tower to help others out, and passed away. this serves as a tribute to him, and all who died that day.

The Gettysburg Address was quoted at the 2002 memorial service . . . both quotes are recordings from that day.
