   Here is a concice version: basically this song is about a guy who is trying to break up with a girl. He is trying to tell her that she will be better off without him but what he actually means is that he will be better off without her. and his efforts at trying to convince her that things will be better without him when she knows the darker meaning behind his words is hurting her too; so he just needs to come out and say that that he will be better off and get it over with.
