The Nurse Who Love Me (Failure Cover) Lyrics

Say hello to the rug's topography
It holds quite a lot of interest with your face down on it
Say hello to the shrinking in your head
You can't see it but you know its there so don't neglect it

I'm taking her home with me all dressed in...

    I thought about relatively literally.

Patient in a rehab or hospital ward. Likely addiction related.

Say hello, to the rug's topography...

This is the end of the story when he's attacked the nurse or at least when he has her down on the floor face down in the rug. It holds a lot of interest because its all she can see.

The shrinking in her head is her succumbing to unconsciousness.

Chorus is the way he sees his nurse especially thinking that her treatment of him is special

Say hello to all the apples on the ground...

Droplets of blood on the rug that were blown out of her nose).

Say hello to everything you've left behind its even more apart of your life now that you can touch it...

Not really sure there's much to interpret. Just a poetic way of talking about ones life flashing before their eyes, she can touch it because long lost memories are coming back.

I'm taking her home with me...

He's planning to take her with him when he escapes... The pills in a little cup and pharmacy keys seem literal. A normal person would need attention, kindness, etc for love. All he needs is drugs.

The song is about, the person's fantasy & imaginations. You can tell it by the soothing nostalgic music that plays in the background.
He loves a nurse, whose looking after him. He thinks that the Nurse loves him too ("acts just like a nurse with all the other guys")
But at the same time, He also wants to get together with the nurse, since she has the "pharmacy keys". That means he could get loads of drugs from her.

I cant really say if he truly loves her, or just in infatuation since she has the "pharmacy keys".

At 2:59, along with Maynard's voice..There's a second weird voice whispering
    "She's got everything I need
    Pharmacy keys
She acts just like a nurse
    With all the other guys"

It's his inside voice speaking the main purpose which is the Pharmacy keys.

And the song as a whole based on imagination. It's not really happening outside but inside his mind. Maybe he's in a hospital because he schizophrenic. He keeps on thinking about something that's not happening. ( The soothing nostalgic music confirms that)

    To add more

" I'm taking her home with me all dressed in white " is pretty self explanatory . He dreams that he's taking her home.
"Dressed in white" means a Nurse uniform..

I hope this will be quite accurate.

Or perhaps it's as simple as it sounds. A guy in hospital falls in love with a nurse who likes him back. And you can guess what happens next.

Think of it from the point of view of a man in a mental hospital. He's crazy and thinks the nurse loves him. "She acts just like a nurse with all the other guys"- trying to convince himself that she's only doing her job when she helps the other patients but she helps him because she loves him. "she's got everything I need, pharmacy keys". The perfect girl for a mentally unstable med head.

This song is about the persona being in love not with a drug but with a person of authority who isn't allowed to be loved by them, they both share the felings and she allows him to take her with him "she acts just like a nurse with all the other guys" shows that she singles out on him.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think it's about a guy in one of those hospitals for crazy people that develops a crush on a nurse that he's convinced likes him back as she acts just like a nurse with all the other guys, she's fallen hard for me... ect. This nurse gives him his medication which is all he needs, pills in a little cup.... The shrinking in his head refers to his shrink, as they are said to "shrink" one's head, and the rug's topography refers to the point when he reaches out to this nurse and is man-handled by the guards.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

This song is basically about drug addiction.
The nurse is a metaphor for the drug addiction.
'She's got everything I need - pharmacy keys' means that the person can see no need to do anything else with his life.

'She acts just like a nurse with all the other guys' this refers to drugs being used as a medicine, the person can see no difference between harmful drugs and simple amphetamines or painkillers.

'Say hello to the rug's topography
It holds quite a lot of interest with your face down on it. Say hello to the shrinking in your head
You can't see it but you know its there so don't neglect it.' This verse speaks in the perspective of someone witnessing the drug addiction. He's being damaged from it through passing out and sickness 'rugs topography...face down on it.' And saying that the person with the addiction cannot see any reason to realise it's doing him damage.

I think the song is conveying the mind's psychological battle with addiction. The verses and the chorus are each expressing two different perspectives of the mind. The chorus speaks from the perspective of someone giving in to their addiction. The verses express the seduction of the addiction and the mind's temptation to keep using the drug. The chorus expresses the mind's submission to the addiction. The satisfaction you get when you have the drug and your lack of concern for everything else. "She acts just like a nurse with all the other guys" is saying, "no one knows what I'm feeling, this is the only thing that makes me feel better."

This song is about a junkie who is talking to his needle (the nurse) and how he belives that "she" is the only who understands him.
