Let It Be Lyrics

When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let...

I agree that many of the Beatles songs may have had different meanings to different people and the artists may have written many of their songs this way on purpose (this would gain more fans than ever).

For me "Let it Be" is about a person's last night on earth before taking his life. Every single verse fits. It shows before on earth and after in heaven. This especially hits home with me as I can imagine these thoughts being the last thoughts of a loved one of mine. LRD

If you replace "Mother" Mary with Marijuana and "Let It Be" with LSD, the words fit together too well for this song NOT to have drug connotations.

"in my times of darkness she is standing right in front of me.. LSD"

"When all the broken hearted people living in the world agree, there will be an answer.. LSD"

"And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light that shines on me.. shine until tomorrow LSD"

This song is just awesome. Do you need any more information? OK people? It's music. Breath, just do like the lyrics say, and let it be. That is what makes the Beatles such a great group. You can think what you want to think about it. Just let it be.

This song was written when he was secretly going crazy. He was not getting along with the other band members and he was not sure whether they should break up or not so he went to sleep one night and dreamed of an Irish nun that he knew as a child and that had to do with mother Mary and in the mother of Jesus and the nun said let it be everything willl be okay just let it be there will be an answer to all of your presence and that was her words of wisdom. That is actually the interpretation of this song it is sort of depressing to a fan but it shows what a true musical genius he was and so were the rest of his band members it is a shame that he was killed.

It's about the Beatles about to brake up and they didn't want the fans to complain about it

I thinks it's what most people have eluded to - the song is what you need it 'to be'

I don't hear any murmur or whisper at 1:07. You two are obviously insane, and/or believe in the Paul is Dead crackpot theory.

This interpretation of Let It Be is an oxymoron because I am giving my opinion on a song that wants no opinions. Mother Mary is I believe Paul's mom and somewhere along the line he asked or wanted something and her response was let it be; don't try to fix it--don't get upset by it--don't hurt yourself by trying to correct a wrong. So for any more interpretations of this song and in a way Paul is telling us not to try and find the reason why such songs were written to just be glad they were written, so enjoy all the Beatles songs; for their meanings? LET IT BE

I suggest you all read Luke 1:38:

"Behold the willing servant of the Lord; let it be unto me according to thy word."

The words "Let it Be" are among the most important in the entire New Testament. Paul must have been aware of both their ultimate source and their significance.

OK, you guys all think you know what the songs mean and maybe one of you is right. But your having a war over a song called: LET IT BE! Jesus, I mean what happened? Its just a moving song, maybe it was drug inspired or religous or about his mom or stinky feet. Lets just let it be, man.

a beatles fan. and remember all you need is love.

I think the "Across the Universe" movie version of Let It Be was not done well. They kind of religionised the song. NO OFFENSE INTENDED--THIS IS JUST MY OPINION!!

Mother Mary was a woman in India with the maharishee crowd... a very advanced soul. The Beatles would come to her and ask "mother mary, should we go back to england, stay here , or go to america, what should we do?" her reply was " brothers, let it be". This was told to me by George Harrison's wife's sister... an old girlfriend of mine.
