This song, Waggy, and Dammit are all basically about one girl. And so is Don't Leave Me from Enema and Everytime I Look For You, off the American Pie 2 soundtrack and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. This is about a girl you loved going out with someone totally wrong for her.

I think this song is about this guy who is in love with this girl, but the girl's boyfriend is treating her like crap and she still won't leave him. She knows she should leave him, but she doesn't because she thinks she loves him. "Why leave when you claim it is love, but why stay when you're not the only one..." this part just shows that she loves him and should stay...but also should leave him because her boyfriend is cheating on her. This song is pretty much about a love triangle with a guy who loves a girl and her abusive, cheating boyfriend.

When they wrote this song it had no name they all decided that it sounded like an emo song so that's what they named it.
