Mark Hoppus: "this song is just about a venue we used to go to and play at"

This song is basically reliving the memories of the (obviously) great girl that was acquainted with "him" at the rock show. The warped tour/pop-punk/rock show theme is awesome actually. I love the song and the video is hilarious.

One of the more lighthearted, fun Blink songs. Mark Hoppus actually wrote this song in one night near the end of the pre-recording sessions for Take Off Your Pants And Jacket when the label didn't feel the album had enough simple, catchy, radio-friendly singles. I'm sure the label loved him for it, as it started off the promotion for the album with a bang. It even advertised the warp tour, and marked the beginning of the pop/punk band craze that would last for the next few years. People smelled the money. It was maybe written with a bit of an ego as well with lines like 'seventeen without a purpose or direction, we don't owe anyone a f*cking explanation'. Blink 182 were huge at this time. It was great for it to happen to group of guys that actually worked really hard for it and had talent. A song like this is a great example of the songwriting knack that Hoppus has. Simply because he wrote it overnight.
