I think this song is about when you have a really good best friend, and he/she starts acting jerkish and you try and try to repair the friendship until you have just had enough and your sick of chasing them.

This song to me is about liking a guy/girl and things just end for some reason and you just can't stand them anymore
the lyric "we might have had it all, I was so stupid then you need time to grow"
explains someone being childish and immature maybe
"you make me regret those times I spent with you"
regretful about good times.
