This song is about being expected to act a certain way and not wanting to. It's about acting like an adult. This person doesn't want to become an "adult" if it means he has to conform to certain standards. He's stating that he's at that age (23) when you still want to be a kid but need to be an adult to make it in the world. No one likes you act this way because they expect you to "be adult" and not make prank phone calls or not wanting to have sex or just shirking responsibilities. He doesn't think people should be so serious and "grow up" so fast.

This song was written about me. I do have ADHD (it fuckin' rocks) and I'm not the one to think baout what I do before I do it. Like yesterday I got in-school-suspension for holding up a screw and asking a girl "wanna screw?"

Basically, the song is about a guy who is at the age of 23. At 23, you are expected to be an adult in order to survive generally and mainly socially. This guy doesn't want to act adult and wants to stay as a typical 'adolescent' e.g. by making prank phone calls and he would rather watch TV than get intimate with someone. At the end of the song it said 'with many years ahead to fall in line why would you reach down on me I never wanna act my age' which is basically saying "fuck you all I'll grow up in my own time!!". Good song.

I think its about a man who really doesn't want to grow up, but the world tells him too. He's lost in his childish ways and doesn't want to change, so he can't have a girl friend that will stick with him. He wants to be able to do those things that adults do, but without the stress of the responsiblity, much like any child does.

I think this song is about realizing that its time to grow up but you really don't want to so you'll do anything you can not to and you just wanna have fun but everybody is telling you and expecting you to act mature.

this song was originally to be named "peter pan complex." this refers to an adult who is socially immature. and just doesnt want to grow up. (nothing wrong with that)***if you listen closely in the end of the song, the background is "please stay wendy." "please stay with me."*** this refers to "the wendy dilemma" the wendy dilema is the idea that wives or girlfriends who end up acting as their husband's or boyfriend's surrogate mother. The dilemma being that it allows said husband or boyfriend to continue acting like a child. Wendy refers to the character who effectivbly becomes mother to Peter Pan and his gang of lost boys, in the peter pan story. so because the song is about not growing up, and not wanting the "mother" figure to leave because then they would have to grow up.
