He loved this person. But they broke his heart and now he wants to cause them as much pain as he can.

Someone who was once close to him, whom he once thought to be a good person, someone he possibly trusted with his life, betrayed him. Broke his heart and showed how evil and careless they truly are. This song is him telling them that they ruined his life and broke his heart. Tainted his soul with sadness and that he knows they don't even care. Whether the care or not, he won't forgive them. He wants nothing to do with them now, never again.

I think its about guy or girl that is starting to make a relationship with another person that he/she doesn't understand completely.Even though that he or she already has a girl or boyfriend. The chorus " You take the breath right out of me.

It's telling a story about how he or she is awestruck by #1 handsome or beautiful #2 he or she that is getting liked is to stupid to realize that the person likes them. The second line is saying that he or she got a hold on the heart and expresses who he or she likes openly to the person that likes them. The third line is saying that you have to fight through the pain of whoever he/she likes rejecting him/her. The fourth line is saying that he or she that likes him or her doesn't want to break her/his heart because the'll be the death of them. The chorus is the main part of the song the"meaning" so yeah bye. -
Gosh! Are you guys nuts?! Why every interpretation song I read it says: "oh it's all about a relationship" or "oh it's about a guy who loves a women but..." Man! I know that it could make some sense BUT I don't think that's the case.
This song reminds me when I was a silly guy and I used to do everything that was told me.
I was a member of a religious community and there I lost my mind. They ordered me to do a LOT OF THINGS in exchange for salvation.
"I see nothing in your eyes" (I've never seen goods intentions in the coordinator who asked me to my obligations).
"Is it over yet, In my head?" (I was starting to have a lot of conflicts in my mind).
"I know nothing of your kind, And I won't reveal your evil mind" (I really don't know anyone with such evil minds - those people from the community).
"Is it over yet? I can't win" (I was hoping
to leave that community as soon as possible, but they would never let me go).
"So sacrifice yoursel(ves)" (Go yourselves to evangelize the people).
"And let me have what's left" (Let me earn my salvation for the good I've done).
"I know that I can find the fire in your eyes" (They really don't give a damn for you).
Well, two years later I quit this community
and I truly had psychological complications. And nowadays I'm having psychiatric sessions and I'm using anti-depression pills.
"You take the breath right out of me" (They've made me lost my mind completely).
"You left a hole where my heart should be"
(I'm not as happy as I used to be, I've lost my way).
"You've got to fight just to make it through, 'cause I'll be the death of you"
(My departure means the slowly death of the community, once that it had lost a lot of believers).
"This will be all over soon" (Someday - I hope - anyone will believe in their lies).
"I'm waiting, I'm praying, realize... start hating!!!" (I'm still hoping that someday I won't need psychiatric sessions neither anti-depressions pills. But every time I pray for this, I remind my obscure days in that place and I start to hate that community with violent anger...)

i think it's about a man who hates smoking, smokers, and smoke from cigarettes! It left a hole in his heart/ where his heart is cause smoke left him some kind of disease ^_^

I think its about a boy that was toyed by a girl. At first the girl did like him but then lost interest in him and that's when she played with him. By "you left a hole where my heart should be" he meant that she broke his heart or that he gave it all to her but she just threw it away leaving a hole in him.

Picture you singing this to yourself in the mirror. Think of the bad things you've done; The ones you hate and don't tell people about; The things that keep your head spinning while you try to sleep. It's like two wolves fighting inside us... Why can't the good wolf finally win?!
Think about wanting to break free from your past mistakes and making a new start, leaving parts of you behind. Guilt can put holes in our hearts until you decide you've had enough, you're going to make sacrifices, and fight to find the fire in your eyes.

Ultimately, I think this song is about a guy who is in love with a girl who he knows is bad for him, or doesn't want him, but he can't let go of her. It's the push and pull of "Go Away/Don't leave me because I love you".
While this is sung with an edge to it, it's not a song about hatred or anger towards a person. It's about being stuck in that rut of loving someone so intensely - even though you can see they don't care - that it feels like it will consume and destroy you. And yet you are not able to walk away as the idea is too painful.
"I want you, but I don't want this. But I don't want to walk away." It's a classic theme.

I think it's a great song! For me it means lost love. He can't get her out of his head. The loss of her is so painful that for his own sake he knows he needs to let her go, but he doesn't want to and he cant. He has a glimpse of hope. She left him for something or someone evil that will destroy her. If she can let that go and come back to him he can save her. He has to fight to get through each day as it is torturing him.She may be around in social situations and seeing her is unbearable. He wants his pain to stop.

i think he is singing about a girl whos there realtionship went wrong they know they cant be together cause they just cant make it work but he loves her and its killing both of them to have to face the fact that they dont belong together she left a hole where his heart should be and he will be trhe death of hurt. there both in love but both killing each other.

"I know nothing of your kindand I won't reveal your evil mind" he's saying she has changed to a point where he doesn't know her but that doesn't mean he will say about her flaws. He's asking if its done with, that he can't wait maybe says it at that moment people say things they don't mean sometimes especially when they are angry..
"so sacrifice yourself... The fire in your eyes" its like he's asking for a chance even though she doesn't love him. That he knows he can make her fall in love again.
so he wants to go all out, then tells her to get away maybe scared he might hurt her again or get hurt himself.
she leaves him speechless every time he sees her. could be because she is beautiful or because he is in love with her. Seems like when she left she took everything with her. kind of like living dead in life without a soul type of thing.
she's fighting to make it through with him. "cause I'll be the death of you" I think he means he'll kill any feeling she has left for him or make her life miserable. Think she might just leave him anyways or he might jus let go bit by bit, trying to stop himself from loving her.
He asks himself "is it over yet," like doubting or assimilating it. like fighting the feelings or thoughts in his head.
its like he's waiting to a point where he hates her and realizes its not meant to be like if he wants her to leave or fade bit by bit... -

He knows she's gonna be hurt too if she finds out about him having someone else also. kinda like he's a polygamist in this situation because yes you can be in love with 2 people at once)
