Deathbeds Lyrics

Eyes like a car crash
I know I shouldn't look but I can't turn away.
Body like a whiplash,
Salt my wounds but I can't heal the way
I feel about you.

I watch you like a hawk
I watch you like I'm gonna tear you limb from limb
Will the...

This song is basically about Oli and Hannah's relationship. Oli never believed that he could love someone this much and in fact, he didn't want to. But when he saw Hannah's eyes (which are really like a car crash), and they kissed, he knew that he were never gonna be able to forget about her and he was gonna love her even when he's dying. That's what he meant with the part "Like a deer in the headlights, I meet my fate."
And I don't take no for an answer cause I fangirl about this song a lot since they sing it together, so yeah.

One of the best songs from BMTH! The song is about a girl that Oli is in love. He feels that she is not good for him, for some reason and he knows that it could be better if he simply ignore her but he just can't. Later on, he is saying that the one kiss they changed kept him alive and not miserable. He faces the common reality: He will never be the same, and no matter what will happen with her, he won't ever stop loving her even when he dies as we can see in "deathbeds, all i see is you. The laugh may leave my lungs but my heart will stay with you" It is different than their other songs, but they show that they can produce good music *and* as another kind of music!!

I think the lyrics mean that he is deeply in love with a girl and that he will do anything to keep her even if it means death.

Well it is called deathbeds, so I think it's also about accepting death, like how he says "don't try to fight the storm you'll tumble overboard" what I interpret as don't try to fight death and "like a deer in the headlights I meet my fate" also sort off goes along with that. I'm probably wrong but thats just what i interpret.

I feel that this powerful and deep song is about a girl that Oli was deeply in love with. He will never stop loving her. He feels that they were meant to be together and the "tides will bring me back to you". He knows that she isn't good for him but he's hopelessly in love with her. He may not even want to be with this girl but he feels that is it an inevitability. "I meet my fate". He knows he shouldn't even be considering it but he can't help it. "I know I shouldn't look but I can't turn away ". The girl has hurt Oli deeply but he still is completely in love with her. "Salt my wounds but I can't heal the way I feel about you".
