Four Words (To Choke Upon) Lyrics

Betrayed one more time!...
…but somewhere down that line…
…your gonna get what’s coming to you!...

(Look at me now!)
Look at me now…
(Look at me now!)

Pull the knife from my back!...
…to leave the one inside intact
(cant wait to...

Bullet For My Valentine wrote this song about everyone who put them down, who said they would never become anything. The 4 words the song is about are "Look At Me Now!" They are actually telling all of these people who doubted them and said they would never become anything to look at what they have become.

This song is about making the statement 'Look At Me Now.' All the people over the years who said youd never make anyting of yourself and just saying look at I did make of myself

This song was for a former bandmate who happened to be a good friend who left cause he felt like the band will never be a success

Jesus christ. If any of you actually did your research, it's about a previous band member who left because he thought the band was dumb. He then went on to kill himself which is what the song "10 years today" is dedicated to.

I think this song is about a friend betraying you. Them being a social climber (you think your above me). IDK, just my thought.

I think it's about being betrayed by a friend. Hence: Betrayed one more time!...
    …but somewhere down that line…
…your gonna get what’s coming to you!...

The person betrayed them and are going to be payed back for it.

    Look at me now!

Obviously, look at what the person has done to them.

Pull the knife from my back!...
…to leave the one inside intact
(cant wait to return the favour!)

The person backstabbed them and they will do the same back.

Too many times I’ve seen it
Rip a hole into our friendship
This is how its been, how it always will be…
…you think your above me… (you think your above me!)
But now im here to envy…
    (four words to choke upon)
    Look (look) at me now!

The friendship they once had is ripped apart. Nothing can change that now. The person thinks themselves better than the ones singing. But the ones singing will show the backstabber(s) that they are wrong.

Great song. My interpretation sucks, but I suck at explaining things, though.

I believe it's about being betrayed by a friend. I cant explain what I think. But 'Look at me now' isnt about people who said they wouldnt go anywhere. Its him pretty much saying 'look at what youve done to me'. 'Pull it out from my back' obviously he was betrayed by a backstabbing friend.

i believe this song is probably about people who maybe told matthew that he wasn't good for anything but then years later he's all like time to eat ur words bitch, look at me im in a band hence (4 words to choke upon, look at me now!) then hes stating how hes always gonna be the big dog from here on out (this is how it's always been, how it always will be) you show them matt....

When Matt ahd originally started to write music and formed Jeff Killed John a lot of people he knew said that this was a waste of time and he should be concentrating more on useful things and that there was a one in a million chance that he would make it. This song was written to show that he had made it so "Look at me now"

I agree with the first one - It's about all the people who've ever doubted or bullied the band, but now they're successful they're saying to the non-believers, "look at me now!".

Agree with the first two. Its about a person who was told they wouldnt amount to anything (friends/parents...) and finally has. Other lyrics (Too many times I've seen this, rip a whole in to our friendship, this is how its been, this is how it always will be, you think your above me but now I need to end this) suggest someone always believes they were above the singer and now they need to put a stop to the derogative behavior. Just a thought.

To my Mind, Matt sings about a girl that was once his girlfriend and left him. Now he is completely fucked up about the situation ( Look at me Now!!!) and wants to finish the relation. " Now I´m here to end this!"( Maybe by killing her, if you the the whole album as one big lyric)
