Call Me Maybe Lyrics

[Verse 1]

I threw a wish in the well,
Don't ask me, I'll never tell
I looked to you as it fell,
and now you're in my way

I trade my soul for a wish,
pennies and dimes for a kiss
I wasn't looking for this,
but now you're in my...

It's about a slut who walks up to a random guy after a night out? just because he looks attractive, even though he may be gay and/or taken (Does it sound so flattering to sing it now?) and gives him her number. She ten finds out he's gay and whines about it for about 80% o the rest of the song. Seriously, kids need to listen to some real music.

This song has much more meaning than you'd expect. "I sold my soul for a wish" basically, the evidence is right infront of you. She sold her soul to the devil for fame and fortune. And when she says "but now you're in my way" she could be talking about a sacrifice she has to do to keep her fame. If you don't believe me, take the rapper eminem as an example, do your own research. Look up his song "my darling ft satan" and it tells you the TRUTH of how there fame is. Thanks. God bless you all.

I notice many teenagers, including myself listen to this song without realizing the true meaning behind it. "I trade my soul for a wish"
I hate to tell you this, but the music you listen to is all mind control, including this song. The evidence is right infront of you. She sold her soul to the devil, and in return he granted her wish. Which was fame, fortune, and authority. The part where she says "now you're in my way" interprets she may have to do some sort of sacrifice to keep her fame. If you don't believe me, take eminem as an example. Listen to his song "my darling ft. Satan" and it basically states the devil trapped him and there's no way out. STOP watching those meaningless tv shows, and don't listen to that pointless music. Thank you for reading! God bless you.

It's about a girl who is desperate for love and crushes hard on the boy that lives next door to her house, in the end finding out he is gay. This song also shows how people will do stupid things when blinded by love. For example she states how she traded her soul for a wish.

its a song about the rituals of the common teen (eventhough the singer is 26 and should be acting her age)where they date and want to trade numbers every week with different people. the tune sounds like any other bieber or other manufactured band which are two a penny these days.

This song is about prostitution. She's trying to get costomers! Pennies and dimes for a kiss? Selling kisses? Prostitution. She has guys after her cause she is obviously good.

Doesn't it have a deeper meaning to it then just her falling for a guy thats way out of her type? Or is it just me? I mean many people have argued the fact that in the song she "traded her soul for a wish" does or does not have a deeper meaning to it. If i were to ask a handful of people, how many of them would be able to tell me that they new Carly Rae Jepson before her single "call me maybe" aired 2012. I bet none i could be wrong. Continuing, i believe that after trading her soul to the devil as she says in the song she has now become more known by the people of the newer generation. Yes, i'm sure people could argue the fact that she meant that she would trade her soul for a wish, the wish being to get the guy. At the end she doesn't end up getting him. Isn't that how it always ends? if you get into a deal with the 'devil'? Eternity of misery ? AS christians believe in hell that would be her punishment for selling her soul. For artist that seems like the only way to get people listening to your music, as if there was no other option to sell there soul. Also in return for selling her soul she'd get fame, money, and guys/girls. But the video shows betrayal . The TRUTH. I don't know it just all made sense to me in this messed up head of mine. Sorry but i also was putting it out there for the people that might think the same way I do. Thanks Bye :)

Ehm... Does it really need interpretation? So (as every human being who can read can easily understand) it's the story of a girl that immediately falls in love with a boy she has just met. She gaves him her number and prays he will call her. Deep meaning, very deep meaning...
