My Own Prison Lyrics

A court is in session, a verdict is in
No appeal on the docket today
Just my own sin
The walls are cold and pale
The cage made of steel
Screams fill the room
Alone I drop and kneel
Silence now the sound
My breath the only motion...

The song is about the final judgement after death. The singer never found Christ (the whole second verse is about His sacrifice on the cross) and is now being sentenced to eternity in hell (the lines about "demons cluttering around" and "my skin begins to burn".

He cries out to God, only to be told he created this by rejecting Jesus.

The line about "Should've been dead on a Sunday morning" references the Resurrection, where Christ was dead and buried, but triumphed and rose. The singer is banging his own head for not accepting it until it was too late...

Honestly, I think he's struggling with his past and as he stands on judgement day, he tries to call out to God, but he doesn't think that God is big enough to cover his sins (He is) and when he refers to Sunday morning, he means that he feels spiritually dead and he regrets not being strong enough to turn to God, hence the Sunday morning reference to church. And so, although he regrets what he's done, in the end his inability to believe in God's saving grace sent him to hell.

This song is about a man who has commited a crime of some sort and stands before a judge to recieve his sentence which he knows will be one of no return. As he stands before the judge he regrets not finding God and wonders if his life would have been different if he had. He then prays to God to only have it confirmed that he has "created his own prison."

This song is very religious it's about looking up to god when you are trying to be saved by the "time of trial" he should've been dead on Sunday and it didn't go through he's in prison for te rest of his life he can't find any remorse but look up to god for a blessing to be freed.
