Fool to Think Lyrics

Look at me dreaming of you

All I could hope is to have you

To have you walking with me

Laughing so in love, we two

Almost drunkenly

I did imbibe of this

Fantasy of you and me

Was I a fool to think?

The way you looked...

Its about a man who believed a woman felt something for him. So he began to take a chance on this "fantasy". It might have been the way she looked at him at first - "The way you looked at me, I swear you did". She might have shown interest but then took it away soon after. He was left wondering if he was foolish to think that there was something there to begin with. She acts as if there was nothing. He might have been mislead "All you do is toss me pennies out". She effects him deeply "You make a mess of me here, I dance a thousand steps for you". But he's willing to do whatever she wants, even if that means just being there for her as a friend in the end - "I'll be whatever gets you through."
