Disturbed - Monster Meaning

Monster Lyrics
You made a monster of me
Through all your wicked lies
Forever tortured by you
Abandoned at death's door
Until I said no more
Don't look away
You're just a former regret of mine
And when you want
Just look...
-
What i gather from this song is, like "Down With The Sickness", is that this song is about David's abusive stepmother. Her abuse made him a rock star in the end, (because Down With The Sickness is really what made them popular), but at the same time, it has made him a monster.
This is just my interpretation, but to those that are saying that he hates his life now or something along the lines of that, i personally don't think that's the case. He seems perfectly happy with the life he lives. Yet, at the same time, I can see where people gather that interpretations. -
It's about how the media can twist you around sometimes, and you learn to hate it, but you know that they were the ones who made you.
-
It means he's tired of who he's become and he just wants everything to go back to it was before
-
To me it really sounds like he's talking about greed, money. It made him a rockstar at first, but it began to morph and change him, in a way that he can't bare to be. It made him a monster.
-
He became a monster because he was made a rock star. This person who made him a rock star Gave him this wicked life. He is angry that he Paid to be tortured!! He loathes his life now.
