Snow White Queen Lyrics

Stoplight, lock the door.
Don't look back.
Undress in the dark,
And hide from you,
All of you.

You'll never know the way your words have haunted me.
I can't believe you'd ask these things of me.
You don't own me, now or ever

You...

The song kinda reminds me of an Incubus, especially here:

    "Wake up in a dream.
    Frozen fear.
    All your hands on me.
    I can't scream"

I'm guessing it is about stalkers, but from my incubus-point-of-view, people who have been supposedly "attacked" by an incubus/succubus find that they are "frozen" in one place, their muscles lock up, and it's painful to move around. Some also say that they can't cry out, feeling a pressure on their chest; and since both the Incubus (male) and Succubus (female) are sex demons, one can infer what's happening in such a song as this. ;)

When I first heard it I thought it was about a girl she loved because I had heard Amy was Bi so I thought it would make sense.Especially in the part where she says "all your hands on me I can't scream".Cause I find it pretty conceited of her to make a song calling herself a "snow white queen" at least she could have given herself a less conceited name, yes we know you are freaking white but dam lol.But I still love the song :)

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

It's about, as Evanescencefreak said, seeing through the eyes of a stalker.
    Pretty freaky...

I'm going with the majority here on the fact that this isn't nearly as much about abuse as it is plain old stalking. The verses are from her perspective and the chorus is from the stalker's, and he is creeping her out like no other. There are tons of lines that suggest all this, from "Don't look back / Undress in the dark and hide from you" to "You just stand there and stare as my world divides". I think Amy Lee did a great job of putting herself in someone else's shoes for once, especially since she doesn't usually do that, and taking on the role of your own stalker is something very difficult to do when all you can think about is how mentally sick they are.

I think that it's basically just stating her fear of being stalked and everything. Think about it.
    ------------
    **Wake up in a dream.**
    Frozen fear.
    All your hands on me.
    I can't scream

I can't escape the twisted way you think of me.
**I feel you in my dreams and I don't sleep.**

    You belong to me,
    My snow white queen.
There's nowhere to run, so let's just get it over.
    Soon I know you'll see,
    You're just like me.
Don't scream anymore my love, 'cause all I want is you

    I can't save your life,
Though nothing I bleed for is more tormenting.
I'm losing my mind and you just stand there and stare as my world divides.
    -----------

Her stalker has her so terrified that she ends up having nightmares of him reaching her; touching her, raping her.
At this point in the song though, with the way its written its not exactly clear whether or not she is asleep or what, but most like she is.

When I first heard it, it sounded like it was an sexually abusive relationship.

    "You belong to me,
    my snow white queen
    There's nowhere to run
so let's just get it over
    Soon I'll know you'll see,
    your just like me
Don't scream any more, my love
Cause all I want is you"

It sounds like he's forcing her to do things, with no remorse. He wants her to love him, but she can't. Not when he's like this.

I love this song, it's my favourite at the moment.

This is maybe about her being physically abused? Amy did say she was in an abusive relationship..thats just what I get from it?

I thing indeed that this song is written for a stolker. It could also fit in with a rape and in purpose is written that way so that she shows the psycological rape. In some parts the words belong to amy and generally in refrain the words belong to the stalker. The stalker was expecting amy to understand him and save his life but amy knows she won't and his promblems and stalking makes her worry. She things of it even in bed.She has her own proplems to take care and don' t want to also fell more

"I can't save your life through nothing I blled for is more tormenting,...
I' m losing my mind and you just stand there and stare as my world divides"

So she feels safe and herself inside her dark house. But she stills fels the pressure(rape)

Boy at least she is wanted and I don' t think she has "that" promblems
She is acting "poetry" so she can come up with good personal songs

When I first heard this song, I thought it was ghostly sounding. For example, the chorus sounds as if some haunting is practically speaking this out loud to the haunted. When you feel haunted, you feel like you're trapped under it. The stalker explanation, I think is exactly right, but when I first heard this it sounded somewhat paranormal. But it's still a GREAT song.

that farther is so wrong, amy and her parents have a good realtionship and she ONLY writes about things she experiences.... but I guess everyone interprets what they know...lol

Ummm, I think it's about stalking, but have you ever thought that it could have more meaning than one? I hate when people are like: "No, you're wrong." She may have written it b/c of stalkers, but an artist always wants to make a song open for interpretation. It could be universal, and to me, it is. It could be about abuse. It could be about aliens for god's sake (just making a point). A song is about how YOU relate to it.

When I first listened to this song I thought it reflected a form of sexual abuse. I can see the beginning refering to a stalker, but
" wake up in a dream
    frozen fear
    all your hands on me
    i can't scream
    i can't scream"
stalkers 'stalk' more from a distance, this person has more control. It may not be a father though, I mean,
amy lee did say that this album was about getting over an abusive relationship. I think its just me, but I've noticed a lot of lyrics in fallen, anywhere but home, and open door that reflected sexual abuse, like this one.

You don't really believe the thing with the father and the daughter, don't you? It's just the weirdest idea ever! Amy lee herself said it was about stalkers, and amy never made experiences with child abuse or something! Her father is proud of her and loves her! Why should she write about something invented! All the songs on the open door have to do something with amy, I mean, she didn't take lithium of course, but maybe she had depressions when ben left the band, or she separated from shaun. I don't believe it's about her father or any father!

Frankly put, that first interpretation rocked. I just want to add that I read this interview with amy on aol, and apparently she's a "goth sex icon", as anyone can figure out for themselves. She had a very shocked response and seemed like she was repulsed by the mention of it. I wouldn't be surprised if she were to write a song about it. I mean, she's always playing it safe (ie not taking porno pictures or becoming a slutty celebrity), and yet people still love her for her figure...And think of her in a very "twisted" manner! Those people "don't know her". Any evanescence fan would know that amy is very conservative.

I think whoever wrote that it was about a stalker is wrong because I think it's about amy lee getting physically abused by a parent.....But everybody is different.
