Dance, Dance Lyrics

She says she's no good with words but I'm worse
Barely stuttered out
"A joke of a romantic" or {just} stuck to my tongue
Weighed down with words too over-dramatic
Tonight it's "it can't get much worse"
Vs. "no one should ever feel...

"Oh and P.S. To all of you out there who keep saying Pete Wentz is the one singing this, you're a little off... It's Patrick Stump (Who wrote the music)...GET IT RIGHT!"
Umm, I believe what was said was that Pete wrote the lyrics, so why don't YOU get it right?? And he does back-up vocals, FYI.

I think it interprets to high school. "two quarters and a heart down, and I don't wanna forget how your voice sounds" I think, means that he's gambling for someone's affections as in putting chips down. It's classic that it's like a nerdy guy crushing on the most popular girl in school, but she feels bad for him, hence" I only want sympathy in form of you crawling into bed with me".

First, I think it's about a guy and a girl who are about to enter on a destructive relationship. They warn each other, incoherently, (she says she no good/with words but I'm worse). He tells her he's very romantic, but he has problems expressing his feelings for her, so instead he uses melodramatic cliches (Tonight it's it can't get much worse/Vs No one should ever feel like)

The relationship they have, on the boy's side at least, is tight. He feels that she has his heart, but is taking his money. However, he doesn't want to leave her. (I'm two quarters and a heart down, and I don't want to forget how your voice sounds)
He feels like he is is losing grip, and the only thing keeping him sane are the things he writes (these words are all I have so I'll write them/so you need them just to get by)

The chorus is him attending a party, and seeing everyone getting wasted. He sees kids who have lost their dreams, and he thinks they're happy because they know he's not. (this is the way they'd love if they knew how misery loved me)

In the second verse, he suspects that the girl is cheating on him, and he knows her quite well, or well enough to know that she will dump one of the boys just before the find out she's cheating (you always fold just before you're found out)
They go out to have a drink, and he tries to get her drunk to make her confess that she's cheating. (drink up, it's last call, last resort)
But he makes a mistake, a slip of the tongue, ans she finds out his plan (but only the first mistake and I...)

They argue, and she denies it all. He gets angry and asks her why doesn't she ever stand up for herself, saying she probably uses it all with the guy she's cheating with (why don't you show me/ the little bit of spine you've been saving for his mattress?)

It ends with them going to a party and him seeing all the people dance, and wondering how they can be so happy, concluding that they must know all about him and his girlfriends problems.

I agree with the zelda guy/girl. In fact, the whole song is about zelda. Geez can't you people think outside the box! Me and the zelda guy/girl are here to rattle cages and expand minds. open your eyes people. Life is a game! It's all a game! It's all a dream! you're dreaming, you're dreaming, you're dreaming, you're dreaming, you're dreaming..................

The "two quarters and a heart down" is an obvious reference to The Legend of Zelda video game series, you know, like 1 heart down, and 2 quarter hearts down?

*She says she's no good with words but I'm worse.
-lol, this line means that she says she not a good person and she says even better than the narrator, at least that's what I think it means.
*Barely stuttered out, "A joke of a romantic," stuck to my tongue.
-meaning he thought she almost said that the relationship they are in does not make sense and is a joke, stuck to my tongue means he was about to say it.
*Weighed down with words too over-dramatic.
-she talks about their relationship in a complaining tone
*Tonight it's "It can't get much worse" vs. "No one should ever feel like..."
-hmmmm, I am not sure once again but I think this means that he is wondering if it is better to think about things getting worse or wondering about no one should have to go through what he is going through.

*I'm two quarters and a heart down.
lol, this is big line , you know why, he did not say half of half but he says two quater not becuase he was trying to make the song kewler its because he is trying to show she is tearing his heart very slowly that it is going away in quarters.
*And I don't want to forget how your voice sounds.
    - she going away so much , he seems to forget how she is, probally because she is a sleeping around a lot with other guys
*These words are all I have so I'll write them.
So you need them just to get by.
    - I have no idea but I will tease the line by saying taht it means , that he has nothing to say but a few stuff and she need them to keep anything left in the relationship.

    *Dance, Dance
We're falling apart to half time.
    Dance, Dance
And these are the lives you'd love to lead.
    Dance
This is the way they'd love if they knew how misery loved me.
-conselation for the fact that his girlfriend is sleeping around, he says dance dance, forget about worries, these are the lives - is pural for spit to show more than one life with more than one man.

*You always fold just before you're found out.
Drink up it's last call, last resort, but only the first mistake.
    - lol , this is saying she always try to cover before she is found out but drin up - enjoy, its last call- its the end and but only first mistake means - only the first time she has really been caught in the act.
*Why don't you show me the little bit of spine,
You've been saving for his mattress, love.
-lol, this means that all the sex time , she has been saving for the other guy, give it to me and just may be!

I think it's about how this school has a prom and then this boy there sees this hot teacher and he falls in love with her. So he tries to impress her.
so he sidles to her and tries to tell her a joke but his tongue was stuck and he just make, 'ph-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b' noises instead of telling a real joke. and then he says,"oh well, it can't get any worse."
but then the chorus starts up and everyone starts jumping on the floor and it DOES get worse because they make a huge hole in the floor and everyone falls in and then the boy falls into the punch bowl and breaks his spine and blames it on his matress.

And then he says, "THIS CANT GET ANY WORSE!"

But it does and more people start jumping on the floor because the chorus starts up again only there's NO MORE floor becos they destroyed it already so they jump really high .... and fall through the hole and die. and misery loves them.

The guy felt sad that he forgot his fried chicken, so he went down to KFC, divebombed Elliott Davis in the drive-thru, and stole some chicken from the black guy in the window. The guy was happy once he got his fried chicken fix.

    By the way....
for anyone that has ever watched 'the simpsons' Fall out boy is the name of a character that is the sidekick of radioactive-man (a comic that bart collects). It's of the episode where bart auditions for the part to be 'fall out boy' in a radioactive-man movie.
    Quite intresting!

This means that this boy was a nerd and he wanted to go out with this popular girl, but was to afraid to ask her out because he was afraid of what she might say.
