    I honestly believe that the story about the soldier is a parable. So, in either case, the song is about how even though we as humans rejected him, he gave his life so that we could become children of God, so that we could become generals too. Obviously, Jesus' arms were outstretched on the cross, but God's arms are now outstretched to bring us home to Him. Third Day's Love Song has the same concept as Circle, but it's more straighforward.

    I believe this song is about 3 things ; Jesus, the military, & love. The story in the pampthlet about the Military guy says he gave his life to save hers, and this is much like jesus, how we gave his life for our sins. the military part I only think because of the story that tells you in the pampthlet about the military guy.

    Well, in the paphlet that comes with the CD has a story for 'Circle' about a general that loved his wife more than anything but she didn't return his feelings fully. So one day, when he leaves, she follows and believing he's having a affare, she yells and lies to him before stroming off where an enemy soldier captures her. Seeing this, her lover offers his life from her freedom. He is killed in her place so she goes into a 7 day depression before telling his army what happen. Due to her lover's trust in her, the amry made her their new general.Personally, I believe the song's about a man who truely loves a girl who doesn't get to admit her feelings for him until he's gone by protecting. I wish it was true for people today.
