Hollaback Girl Lyrics

Uh huh, this is my shit
All the girls stomp your feet like this

A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna happen like that
Because I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl [x2]

Ooooh ooh, this my shit,...

The song refers to a person who talk about other people, spread false rumors, try to cause trouble, or a person who talks behind your back. Gwen, on the other hand, talks honestly, and in-your-face. Also, you better not talk about her or... let's just say you'll regret it according to her.

It so happens to be about Courtney Love, Kurt Cobain's widow. Huge fan of her, too, and Nirvana.

I think this song is directed to the typical femaleworld in highschool.
It's about a typical girlfight between two girls with attitude.
One of the girls had been talking shit about the other one, so she would give back, and stand on herself ''Because I ain't no hollaback girl'', '' and she would have all along and give her a lesson. ''So I'm ready to attack, gonna lead the pack''

This song was made after a comment Courtney Love said about her in an issue of Seventeen magazine: "Being famous is just like being in high school. But I'm not interested in being the cheerleader. I'm not interested in being Gwen Stefani. She's the cheerleader, and I'm out in the smoker shed."

It's about Courtney Love calling Gwen a cheerleader on an interview.

This song was written because a Hollaback Girl is someone who lets men touch her body in inappropriate ways. She is spreading out a message just like Watch Ya Wating For which is about girls who should not be hoes.

I think that its about a guy who broke up or cheated on his girlfriend (gwen). When he feels bad, he asks her out again, only to be rejected because Gwen won't be a hollaback girl (or a girl who breaks up with a guy, then dates him again. an endless cycle.).

Many believe it means that, by not being a “hollaback girl,” Stefani is saying that she won’t respond to guys who “holla” at her or treat her poorly. Actually, she’s using a cheerleading metaphor—a hollaback girl is one who repeats back the cheers that the head cheerleader yells. With this song, Stefani is stepping away from the pack and proclaiming herself independent. She’s the head cheerleader giving orders, not one of the cheerleaders who simply repeat them back.

The singer's boyfriend was spreading rumours about her, so she beat him up after school.

It is basically about her cheating on her boyfriend when they were going out together....now, she is saying she is sorry and wouldn't it be nice if there was just a world of them two together.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think it means she's not gonna holla back, meaning she's gonna kick some as, "meet me at the bleachers" she's calling someone out, she's not a hollaback girl.

Gwen actually wrote this song because someone in the biz(don't remember who) was talking shit about her.
Hinse to " I heard that you were talking shit and didn't think that I would hear it." duh-huh-huh!

It's about a guy who cheats on the girl singing. He tries to get back with her but she won't because she won't go back she won't "hollaback"

Here are some interpretations of the phrase "Hollaback Girl":

    1. An attractive girl but not the cream of the crop.

(When Tom sees Julie at a club, He hollas at her because she looks good but then when he sees Becky he forgets all about Juile. At the end of the night Becky won't put out so he 'hollas back' at Juile)

    2. Someone who just echoes the opinions of those who are popular and has no real opinions of their own; someone who rides the wave of someone else's popularity

(Vickie and Carla are just hollaback girls for Lisa)

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
