“Still like the letters in your name and how they feel” is my favorite line in the song. This speaks to me. I never knew anybody else felt that way about someone else’s name; I’ve never heard anyone say this out loud before. It reminds me of scribbling your love’s name in a notebook over and over. You feel connected to the name. It becomes part of you. It’s hard to let go of that when you break up with someone.

It is no doubt, that songs about a broken relationship.
The word 'still' seems to express the stuff that this couple went through and also his thoughts and dreams during being apart from her..

Although it depends immensely on issues of that break up, John is making a good point I think. one would say you have to get that person out of your mind and forget the times you have had.
here we have it! why changing his mind and maybe his personality.. just to hurt hisself? as long as it feels good for him (and that song spreads good vibes ;)) and there is no definite ending of a relationship i think its totally ok to do so..
