It's about liberty and freedom. Everything inside is made of stone/there's nothing in here that's moving - all references to the statue of liberty. He is talking to his fans that he does not want to sing protest songs anymore. (Originally written by Bob Dylan) . It's not a relationship/love song, the "girl" is only a metaphor.

A Bob Dylan song done as a duet by Johnny Cash and June Carter[R.I.P] about making a statement towards THE OTHER SIDE OF US, if be with a female, the civil courts or the deep government bankships that she wants to look upon him[them] as her Superman, stamped within the ''legal'' law to save her. Whereby sadly throughout time the real man has been disinpowered to become only a artificial and strawman him. A dead u.s corp. owned stone. Compare to the once sovereign and free superman of the old common law. That's why i believe the protagonist is saying ''It Ain't Me Babe'' that you're looking for' cause it will only drag her[you] down. If one doesn't know to compare to the real flesh and blood natural man of God with a soul that he's really holding onto for companionship. Where she or they don't really know how to look and search for with love not to control selfishly.

To me, this song is about how a man feels that he isn't what his woman needs,
"You say you're looking for someone
    Never weak, but always strong
To protect you and defend you
Whether you are right or wrong
Someone to open each and every door
    But it ain't me, babe
No no no it ain't me you're looking for"
He thinks he'll only let her down
"I'm not the one you want, babe, I'll only let you down"
Honestly, this song is about how a man is feeling insecure because he thinks he's not enough for the girl he loves.

To me this song is about a guy who's done with a woman - she wants/needs more that he can give - and who has moved on to someone else (and anyway I'm not alone). She has come back to his place to plead her case and he's telling her "Get out of here, I can't give you what you want" and "I don't care for you anymore" (everything inside is made of stone/there's nothing in here moving).
