Applause Lyrics

[Verse 1:]

To crash the critic saying, "Is it right or is it wrong?"
If only fame had an I.V., baby could I bear
Being away from you, I found the vein, put it in here

I live for the applause,...

I think this song is about trying to seek the approval of everyone. Its about doing things that at least most people agree with and "applaud".

"Applause" is a song by American recording artist Lady Gaga, from her upcoming third studio album, Artpop (2013). Written and produced by Lady Gaga and DJ White Shadow, the song was released on August 12, 2013 by Interscope Records as the album's lead single.[1][2] Originally intended for a release through mainstream and rhythmic airplay on August 19, 2013, it was rush-released a week earlier after two snippets of the song were leaked online on August 10.[3][4] Details of the song were revealed throughout 2013 as Gaga tweeted its lyrics in early 2013. Written while touring for her Born This Way Ball, "Applause" almost missed inclusion on Artpop, let alone serving as a single.
