Linkin Park: Don't Stay Meaning
Don't Stay Lyrics
Sometimes I need you to stay away from me
Sometimes I’m in disbelief I didn’t know
Somehow I need you to go
[Chorus:]
Don’t stay
Forget our memories
Forget our possibilities
What you were changing me...
-
It's really about anybody going through a crappy relationship and then everything has fallen apart. I myself just went through a nasty break up and fights following after the break up and being accused for something I didn't do... Yeah it's about the frustration and heartbreak, by wanting the old life back from a long painful relationship.
-
It's a song about being smothered by your partner and sick of them being there after everything they've done to you, including cheating on you ("take all your faithlessness with you").
-
I think it's about when someone hurts you, you're so angry and want them gone. You want to forget about them, and you want them to get out. I can relate, I had someone who hurt me badly and got rid of all of their pictures and stuff.
-
i thkn its a fuckin break up
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
I think this song is about how Chester (lead singer) is frustrated with his wife/girlfriend and wants her to get out.
-
okay, this song is about a heartbreak but it didn't sounds like someone who got dumped.
it's obviously, about someone who changed 180 degrees because of going out with his gf/her bf..
"Sometimes I need to remember just to breathe
Sometimes I need you to stay away from me
Sometimes Im in disbelief I didnt know
Somehow I need you to go
Dont stay forget our memories
Forget our possibilities
Take all your faithlessness with you
Just give me myself back and dont stay
Sometimes I feel like I trusted you too well
Sometimes I just feel like screaming at myself
Sometimes Im in disbelief I didnt know
Somehow I need to be alone"
see? narrator's lover just too overprotective and thought the world is just for the two of them, when the narrator also has his/her own world before.. the lover made the narrator to ignore/forsake what he/she had..
you know, it feels like that you have a life, a very important life before, and someone come and then interfere, interrupt you and your life..
let see the last verse :
"I dont need you anymore I dont want to be ignored
I dont need one more day of you wasting me away
I dont need you anymore I dont want to be ignored
I dont need one more day of you wasting me away
(With no apologies)"
Narrator doesn't want to be ignored by his/her friend (his/her world or even life) and he/she felt wasted all of this time.. the narrator just wants to go back to his/her early life where his/her life go back to normal...
"i don't need you" is the strong phrase that made me realize who has the power, the narrator or his/her lover ?
thanks for reading, hope you enjoy the song well :D -
Its about someone who got dumped by a girl and don't want her to stay anymore.
