Coldplay - Politik Song Meanings

I believe that it's abundantly clear that this song is obviously about . . . ugh. . .hhmm. Nevermind, I guess I cant' really make heads or tails of this song.

Really, does anybody have any idea what this song means? If I were to make a complete stab in the dark as to what this song is all about, I suppose I would say that it deals with him talking of all the different thoughts/views one can have about the world, a "Politik", in this case, and that we should all see the world for what it really is ("open up your eyes").

I really don't know!!!!! If you have any idea at all, let me know. You'll be my friend if you do it. I'll buy you a coat.

I think it is quite confusing but basically I look at it as he is so perplexed by the world and wants to know what his girlfriend or whatever thinks but then concludes, forget it all, he just wants love cause that's all that matters and makes sense right now to him and he'll take that over all life's mysteries and debates...just a thought!

I believe that this song is about the very organization that chris martin is a part of and promotes at every concert. "make trade fair." it's a song for the impoverished, those who are treated unfairly and who don't live sufficient lives because of political machines and greedy world leaders. "give me love over this." "open up your eyes." stop the b/s

On VH1 Storytellers they said that this song came out right after 9/11 (not written for it) and that it changed what the song was about, and the guitarist said that it was all about how people see the world differently and its a very personal song for different reasons for different people.
