Fall Out Boy - Sugar We're Goin Down Song MeaningsLyrics:Am I more than you bargained for yet I've been dying to tell you anything you want to hear Cause that's just who I am this week Lie in the... (See the rest of these lyrics) Submitted by: false_hopes Added: 2005-06-19 23:03:01   Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() This song is about a guy who likes a girl so much he would do anything just to be with her but one thing shes with another guy. Hes gonna keep trying no matter what basically
Submitted by: huronsfinestpgb This song is about two people who use eachother sexually and know its morally wrong, but it doesn't bother them. They have their normal relationships with other significant others but then the also have each other. One of the two people gets jealous, but realizes there's no point.
Submitted by: xXMartiniKissXx This song is about mastubation. They said it at Warped Tour in Chicago before they played the song.
Submitted by: Stephy_Fresh A complex is when a son is sexually in love with his mother, and wants to kill his father thus the line "A loaded God complex, cock it and pull it" thinking he's a god and he can go by any means to get rid of the man thats in his way to get to the woman he wants.
Submitted by: anonymous There are many types of complexes. Besides the fact that I don't think that it's at all applicable to this song, you are referring to is an Oedipus Complex.
Submitted by: blnts_chick I think this song is just about a guy who is in love with a girl who is dating someone else. He's just jealous and it's pretty obvious when he says " Oh don't mind me im watching you two from the closet wishing to be the friction in your jeans, isn't it messed up how im just dying to be him" I think that this song is just him explaining how he feels basically telling her everything he feels and not holding anything back. When he says "a loaded god complex cock it and pull it" I think he's referring to suicide, religion has it that if you commit suicide you wont go to heaven and he doesnt believe that that meaning " a loaded god Complex"
Submitted by: ShockerGirl19 I think this song is the about a boy who is having an intense reaction to the simple supposedly physical based relationship he is in with this girl. Their chemistry was only supposed to be sexual, and the guy realizes that he is falling for her. In the song, the hook says, "I'm just a notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song." I think it's here that the band is singing about how the girl is totally emotionally detached, and sees the sexual conquest with the guy, as a "notch in her bedpost" and the guy, in retaliation, states that she's "just a line in a song" even though, he knows she more than that to him.
Submitted by: anonymous Shockergirl has it completely...
Submitted by: anonymous I think that a part of the interpretation that is missing has to do with the phrase, "I'll be your number one with a bullet" which is probably a proper use of the phrase. It basically means the best or the first, and with a vengance or passion, and it comes from the way songs are listed in Billboards. Being number one is at the top of the charts, while a bullet signifies that the album or single sold better this week than the previous week, indicating it is continously gaining popularity.
Submitted by: anonymous I think the person above is absolutely correct! i have studied up on this song and her interpretation is exactly what it means...good job!
Submitted by: GerardLover123 This song is about a guy thats obsessed with a girl who isn't obsessed with him. Either way, what ever this song means, it's awesome!
Submitted by: bamboochick I agree with blnts_chick, I think he's talking about suicide. One of the first lines is "lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum." That's like a big tomb or grave (in a graveyard). He's obviously thinking about death-- from this and the "you're number one with the bullet, a loaded God complex, cock it and pull it." It sounds like he's considering killing her too. During one of the choruses there's an aside and he's singing "take aim at myself, take back what you said, take aim at myself, a loaded God complex, cock it and pull it."
Submitted by: jealousyellowstar I would have to agree completely with interpretation #2. Very good point. Also, I agree with another one that FOB's lyrics don't always make sense when they don't have to. So don't get confused. They're great writers.
Submitted by: anonymous xXMartiniKissXx is right...if anyone else didn't just see Fob from MTV, maybe you'd know that.
Submitted by: anonymous A loaded god complex is a type of gun, it doesn't mean that he thinks that he is god and that he is in love with his mom or some such crap.
Submitted by: anonymous This song is just about the person that you're in love with that doesn't notice you. I was at their concert two days ago and they said that.
Submitted by: anonymous It's about a guy who really wants this girl and she wants to be a hook-up with him, but nothing more. She'll go out with other guys, but he just wants to be with her. He considers suicide, but decides against it.
Submitted by: fleecinator Its about a guy who really likes the girl. However she is with another person rather than him. He would rather kill her and maybe himself if thats the only way he can prevent her from being with someone else
Submitted by: fleecinator Sorry about my previous interpretation but after reading the lyrics again it seems that he loves this girl but cannot be with her and he kills himself at the end.
Submitted by: anonymous I need to set two things straight:
