Fall Out Boy - I'm Like A Lawyer With the Way I've Been Trying To Get You.. Song MeaningsLyrics:Last year's wishes Are this year's apologies Every last time I come home I take my last chance To burn a bridge or two I only keep... (See the rest of these lyrics) Submitted by: anonymous Added: 2007-05-17 16:06:29   Rating: ![]() ![]() This song is about a guy who was crazy in love with this girl, but when he finally went out with her he realize how big of a mistake it was, "Last year's wishes are this year's apologies every last time I come home" Now he is stuck with what he has but he say it isn't that bad "to realize 2 out of 3 ain't bad"
Submitted by: anonymous I think it's about youth as a whole and how they are placed and viewed in this world. Part of being youthful is falling in love like every other day, so "last year's wishes are this year's apologies." Also I think the song's about a guy wanting to be with a girl...like every other fob song now that I think of it. The new face of failure is referring to kids, basically and how kids need to make it through with our "bulletproof loneliness" and by constantly reminding ourselves that "2 out of 3 ain't bad."

Submitted by: anonymous More a question than an interpretation: do they deliberately quote meatloaf - "two out of three ain't bad"? or is it just coincidence?
Submitted by: anonymous "The best way to make it through with hearts and wrists intact is to realize two out of three ain't bad."
Submitted by: anonymous It's about this guy whose in love with his best friend, so when she gets married, he finds a desperate attempt to show his love
Submitted by: xClandestine_Heartx "This song is obviously about the past lyrics from other songs. You know, like "I hope you choke and crash your car", "stop burning bridges and drive off of them" etc...
Submitted by: anonymous Yeah but if past lyrics are what he is talking about then why is the song called I'm like a lawyer with the way I'm alwasy getting you off (me&you)
Submitted by: anonymous This song is totally written for Ashley Simpson. Pete totally blew it on the radio with his laugh. Its so easy he like practically said it.
Submitted by: anonymous well.
Submitted by: anonymous Fall out boy made the lyrics so you would think one thing that sounds totally right and so obvious, but it really means something else. when you first see it, you think a guy falling in love, honeymoon, etc.. . "We're the new face of failure, prettier and younger but not better off. bulletproof loneliness, at best, at best" this generation is so worked up on all the drama that they don't realize what is important in life like the people in Uganda and Darfur. "The best way to make it through, with hearts and wrists intact. Is it to realize two out of three ain't bad, ain't bad." Realize that if something went wrong in your life, 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Because people out there have it worse, think of the world.
Submitted by: anonymous O my god. That person who said it was about past lyrics is retarded. and no it's not about Ashlee because they don't write things like that because then they'd be the worst band of the year instead of best.
Submitted by: Wildwest814 I think it's about love and heartbreak in the teenage life.
