i think that the songs title is about pete wentz's constant texting to his girl friend. Since he never sees her texting is the only way to contact her.

Wow

Pete is single

he wouldn't lie to his fans and if he had a girlfriend he shouldn't be ashamed of her

and, uh, sweetie, it is June 2007 and he's on tour right now so I don't think he's gonna get married very soon

They were dating but they're just friends not. Yeah he said he's single but why does it matter?

This was meant to be an interpretation of the song but it turned out to be a short discussion on whether Pete is single or not!! typical!

The part towards the end where they start shouting is really weird, but I love it. And the lines where they say they're so miserable and cunning and stunning or whatever. Also, the part about throwing stones at a glass moon. They are all so beatiful.

The part at the end when pete speaks his mind
he is saying

:It was ice cream headaches and sweet avalanche
When the pearls in our shells got up to dance
You call me a bad tipper of the cradle
But I'm just tired yawns for fawns on hunter's lawns
We're the has-beens of husbands
Sharpening the knives of young wives
Take two years and call me when you're better
Take tears of mine, find yourself wetter...

and what that's is supposed to mean is
:yea I'm no good atleast I addmit it, and no matter how bad I am you will always be worse

I guess I should submit a real interpretation, so here it is: I think this song talks about lies. To me "we're throwing stones at a glass moon" says they are trying to stop the lies. And "we bullet the words at the mockingbird's singing" says the lies are destroying the innocent

I do think that this song is about lies, but I don't think that "We bullet the words at the mockingbirds, singing" has to with lies destroying the innocent. That doesn't make sense, since "We" refers to Fall Out Boy. It means that Fall Out Boy exposes the lies that naive people are easily convinced into believing. And this song doesn't have anything to do with Pete's girlfriend, by the way. It is more about the band, as a whole, and the message they try to convey through their music.

"We Take sour sips from life's lush lips

And we shake, shake, shake the hips in relationships"

Means that they enjoy their lives

"Stomp out this disaster town

You put your eyes to the sun and say 'I know you're only

blinding to keep back what the clouds are hiding'

And we might have started singing just a little soon

We're throwing stones at a glass room"

Means that they might have conveyed their message too soon

for some people, and that they try to expose lies.

"Woah, We're so miserable and stunning

Woah, Love songs from the genuinely cunning"

Means that Pete Wentz is an egomaniac.

And its 3 a.m. and I don't feel like writing anymore.

Duuude, I love this song, but y'all shouldn't take up space conversing... just sayin'. >.>;; Anyway, I guess to me it's like they're tired of rumors and lies and want people to realize things... I dunno. I'm not good at this stuff. xD

First off, enough with the Pete wentz dating thing. It's his buisness and this forum is not exactly "ilovepetewentz4evr.com" okay?We have priorities, like informing those who seek Lyric Interpretations... Anyway, the song has many motifs and contrasting images of things that are "lovely" and things that are not. The song also describes how desensitized people are by throwing in, "yawning at [dead] fawns on lawns". But all this comes down to a song that's mostly about Love and how hard relationships are. If you look at the lyrics it makes sense. at least, that's one way to look at it, but then again, there is no wrong or right interpretation is there?I agree with the "Anonymous"(that actally wrote something related to the song) and his/her interpretation as well.So yeah, that's my 2 cents. Keep giving this song more...

Actually in the beginning when he sings "we're throwing stones in a glass room,"
he is saying that whatever he's doing, it's bound not to work out. It's like a plan waiting to fail.

We take sour sips from life's lush lips
And we shake, shake, shake the hips
In relationships

[they live life to the fullest. pretty self explanatory]

Stomp out this disaster town
You'll put your eyes to the sun and say,
"I know you're only blinding to keep back
What the clouds are hiding."
[this could be either that their fame is distracting fans from other issues or something like that, or about people acting fake]

And we might've started singing just a little soon
We're throwing stones in at a glass moon.
[they got famous really quick, and now that they are where they are, they can take risks(throwing stones at a glass moon)]

Slept through the weekend and dreamed
Of sinking with the melody of the cliffs of eternity
Got postcards from my former self saying:
"How've you been?"
[ saying that the person he used to be would hate the person he has become]

Straight Talk...
Just the title of the song makes me think that it is really about...
Masturbating.
He talks about how he's lonely and how he needs love.
If you consider the symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and think about the Tunnel of Love, this actually makes sense.
