This song... and any real fall out boy fan who didn't jump on the bandwagon when from under the cork tree made it big would know this... Is about Chris Gutierrez an old childhood friend of Pete Wentz. Pete had "relations" with Chris' girlfriend and when he found out he blasted pete on his livejournal saying things like who does he think he is (the reason for the title don't you know who I think I am?). one nite stand refers to his sex with chris's girlfriend and put your fingers back to the keys is pete telling him that if he can't get over it or do better than some petty insults on an online blog he needs to put his fingers back to the (keyboard) keys and keep on typing until his heart is content.

It's about fans.
A mockery of the people who call them Panic! wannabes.
Digitalization makes the music business a joke. Fans aren't fans. They are saying goodbye to the way things used to be.

Does anyone know where "I only think in the form of crunching numbers" is from?
It sounds so familiar.

Um to clear things up, Thnks Fr Th Mmrs is the way its written on the album...so I don't know what album you have Paniqluv, but mine says Thnks Fr Th Mmrs...
Anyways, I'm still really confused about the song meanings, but I'm guessing the people with the Chris theory are right
note from paniqluv i was being like blind and stupid. i looked back and it said thnks fr th mmrs. major blonde moment. sorry people!!

hockey..doode..u rock for that..haha.. F.O.B. Songs are about whatever you want them to be..there may be a fall out boy meaning but they leave the interpretation ambiguous enough so you can make the song your own..when you sing it..u sing about whatever you feel the song is about..the FOB meaning is about chris any non bandwagon fall out boy fan knows this..make the song your own..haha..hockey..PRICELESS

the song about chris gutieriz I belive? WOW that's amazing. Pure and simply amazing.
The song is not about the guy going gay. The lyrics on the album "he taste like you but sweeter" are in quotes meaning he's probably quoting someone. The chances he's quoting his estranged gay midnight lover are out there but doubtful. How you Get hockey is so far stretched and ridiculous. Thinking in crunching numbers is elaborated by hotel numbers and hints to be possible phone numbers. Hockey lol. You watch WAY too much hockey my friend. You need an estranged gay midnight affair once in a while just so you clear your head and make sense.

This song is how Pete's girlfriend dumped him for his best friend. So he's saying he's gunna make her bend and break with anger on how fast he can pretend she's gone.

Leave hockey dude alone, peeps. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. And I, for one, enjoyed reading it; much like I enjoyed reading some of the others. :] I do agree that FOB songs, as was stated earlier, are purposely ambiguous and open-ended to allow individual interpretation. For example, "Say a prayer but let the good times roll, in case God doesn't show." What if it's a throwback to that whole Y2K thing where everyone was so sure that judgement day was upon us? Just an example.

This song refers to a romantic relationship in which the initial sentiments have perished, but both lovers continue to "sleep with each other" to appease their physical and mental desires The title "Thnks fr th Mmrs" is the words "Thanks for the Memories" with vowels removed, with the intention of suggesting it was written as part of a text message.

Dude, this song isn't aboot canadians. Get off the drugs! Geez its not rocket science you brainless invusult!!The only reason you typed a song interpretation like that is because you have no life and you are sitting at home.FAG!! This song rocks and if you discriminate it again I will beat your ass!!Pete Wentz is hot!
I hate you,suck monkey balls!!
Now for a REAL interpretation: I heard it's about his friend but here is what I think. Pete Wentz broke up with his girlfriend and he still likes her for some reason and he is thinking about getting her into the mood so they can, you know. He doesn't like her for her personallity he just loves her and he can't help it.

I really don't care what the song means. Its a song and its catchy. Nor am I a FOB fan, but I had to post on the meaning of the song title because frankly your guys text messaging theory was really annoying. funny but annoying. The reason they wrote the title like that is because their label had been complaining how their song titles were always so long. So, they decided to go ahead and remove the vowels, thus shortening the name! funny guys. Anyway I saw that Pete guy on fuse, explaining the whole deal. So yeah that's the real reason for the title. not text messaging a girl.

It's about a romantic relationship in which the initial sentiments have perished, but both lovers continue to "sleep with each other" to appease their physical and mental desires. NOT ABOUT PETE AND HIS ATTEMPT TO COMMIT SUICIDE.
the title is referring to a part of a text message.

Well, If what the earlier poster said about Panic!'s song that has a line in it from closer, that could be FOB's way of addressing the point that people call them Panic! wannabees.
The text messaging theory and the panic! reference are both supported by the music video, although videos aren't the most accurate way of interpreting the song. I do however think it's actually directed against the fans and media, who turned their backs on FOB for Panic!

It's about Pete and his past. which was not very good..... (Those pictures, the girl who cheated on him, suicide....) So you know that has to be really hard on a guy...

Thnks Fr Th Mrms. The line "He tastes like you only sweeter" is from the movie Closer and how they are animals ("cavemen") when it comes to relationships.
I don't doubt it possibly has to do with Chris Gutierrez, but Petey openly talked about it at their concert and what it meant. (May 17, '07)
So "he tastes like you only sweeter" is a line from a movie. That line about ejaculation, so I don't know exactly what it means in their eyes.

"I'm gonna make you bend and break"- possibly a euphemism- "Say a prayer, but let the good times roll, in case God doesn't show"- hope for the best and have sex, I guess- "And I want these words to make things right, but it's the wrongs that make the words come to life"- he knows he shouldn't be sleeping with her- "'Who does he think he is?' (If that's the worst you got, better put your fingers back to the keys)"- either the girl is bitter about being used purely for sex, or it's that Chris guy- "One night and one more time, thanks for the memories, even though they weren't so great"- yep, he's just using her, so it's a one night stand- "'He tastes like you, only sweeter'"- don't think I need to explain this one- "Been looking forward to the future, but my eyesight is going bad"- looking forward to what might happen next, but it's hard to tell- "And this crystal ball is always cloudy, except for when you look into the past"- he can see what he's done wrong, but not what he'll do next- "One night stand (one night stand-off)"- there'll be a confrontation about the one night stand he had, possibly ending a friendship/relationship- "They say I only think in the form of crunching numbers, in hotel rooms, collecting page-six lovers"- everyone thinks he just sits in hotel rooms and calls up more and more slutty girls, and he doesn't seem happy about the accusation, even though he doesn't deny it; in fact, the next line confirms it- "Get me out of my mind, get you out of those clothes"- make him stop thinking and just undress- "I'm a line away from getting you into the mood"- erm, might not be a drug reference like some of you seem to think... It could just mean pick-up lines.

This song is actually about how when you stop going out with someone and you are still obsessed with them.
