This song is about Cassie Bernall. For those of you who don't know, this song is directly related to the Columbine Highschool Massacre of April, 1999. When Eric Harris bent to shoot Cassie Bernall, he allegedly asked the question "Do you believe in god?" And when she answered "yes" He shot her.

Cassie and Rachel were not asked "Do you believe in god?"
Rachel was killed outright and the last words Cassie heard was "Peek-a-Boo" then one of the shooters, Dylan I think, shot her under a table in the library.

This song is not only about Cassie Bernall but just about believers in general. Its like are we going to step up to the plate and proclaim our love in God? Or are we just going to sit back and be closet believers? Cassie was willing to proclaim it. And for that she has a special place in heaven.

Yes it is about Cassie, and well there are also 4 witnesses to seeing her get shot, & It was because she said yes. Please do read the book, and documentaries. Very Very. good. Its called ' She said Yes ', So think about it. Tis very sad what she went through though. And I also really doubt that her mother would put false thing in a non-fiction book. She could get in jumbo trouble.

As 99% percent of what others have stated, "Cassie" relates to the Columbine High shooting and a girl who was shot for saying she believed in God. I don't know all the details about the incident, but the lines "The question asked in order to save her life or take it / The answer no to avoid death, the answer yes would make it" are so obviously saying that.

Well, as for Daxxiness,
unfortunetly, he used a wikipedia entry which in my opinion disqualifies his source because anyone can submit something onto Wikipedia,
While we can not get a straight answer as to who said yes in the columbine and who said it firmly because there are so many different stories as to what happened, we can be certain that this song was written in memory of the Columbine and that simply put the song is about standing up for what you believe.

Why would we have respect for the Dylan and Eric? Ya they died too, because they shot themselves after killing 13 others! I am currently attending Columbine, and Cassie was my dads friends niece, and Isaiah was my neighbor. It hurts when people say don't blame Dylan and Eric. Why would you not? They were bullied, ok I get it, but what excuse is that to freaking kill innocent people?! And what caused the God question asked to Cassie, were they bullied by God? No. And if you say don't blame Eric and Dylan, blame the ones that bullied them..then your a hyprocrite. You all know you have said or done something rude to someone in your life, so if you were in that position, and you said one rude thing to someone who then shot up the school, well its apparently your fault right? That's basically what you are saying.

This song is about the girl who said 'yes' at the Columbine shooting that she believed in God. Not to burst anyone's bubble, but that actually didn't happen. Her friend was the only one that heard her say that. Others around her have no memory of that. If it had happened...wouldn't that have been something more that one person would have remembered?

I love this song. It's about Cassie Bernell who died (along with Rachel Scott and 12 others)it's beautiful. It's not only a verbal contribution to the faith and believers everywhere but also to God and those whom aren't afraid to say 'Yes I believe in God' and die in the name of faith and the everlasting glory of our maker. I for one could not ever imagine the courage it must've taken to do what Cassie and Rachel did, and I honor them. But in no way am I afraid to stand up and say;
YES I BELIEVE IN GOD!

Alright, what happened was that Cassie was allegedly asked if she believed in God, and when she said yes, she was shot. She was one of twelve students and a teacher, according to her website. Another girl, Rachel, was asked the same question, and when she didn't die, they asked her again, she repiled yes again, and they shot her again, and she died. The shooters also died. I heard they killed themselves.

"Cassie" is about Cassie Bernall and Rachel Scott, two Christian girls who were shot in the Colombine High School shooting in 1999. They were shot and killed because of their belief in God. I think it's a pretty loud statement to so willingly die for what you believe in. (There was also a really cool book called Rachel's Tears about Rachel Scott) This song is about standing up for your faith, even when it may mean persecution, or even death.

I think its clear it's about cassie and the school shoting but the thing that sucks is that she is not able to see the impact she had across the world and how much she is being congradulated for sticking up for what she believes.

I do agree that killing is bad but yes the shooters are dead and no one really knows what was going on in their heads they might have had some problems so what feel bad for the shooters just think " that's ashame" and feel bad for the victums but especially feel bad for the parents
how do you think they feel knowing there kids were killers or the other parents knowing their kids are dead its really a sad thing

You know, everyone is saying like the same thing. I mean so many people have established that it is about cassie and rachel. why do 500 people need to say that?

Even though it is called "Cassie", the song is also about Rachel, she's in it too. Cassie was proven to be a false statement on the question, but she did believe in god and admitted it on camera two days before her death saying basically she'd drop everything for him. While Rachel was never proven false or true to replying "You know I do" To the question, but there is a possibility she did. The only witness around her said at first they shot her then asked her something he can't remember then mocked her for her faith before shooting her in the head, then later he said he couldn't remember what they said after he was shot. So it could be true. But both girls were both big for their beliefs, and I bet if Cassie was asked she would of said yes.
By the way Dylan and Eric were only victums to everything. Eric went crazy do to bullieing and his meds, the meds were proven to give him anger issues. While Dylan is a bit unknown, he had friends and such, but he was slightly picked on to. (Just so you all know. And no I don't think they were still right for what they did but no one deserves hate or death like that.)

Rachel was actually the target for Dylan and Eric because Rachel talked to Eric about God in school. The other story I've heard was that Eric and Dylan lined up students on the wall and said, "whoever loves Jesus raise your hand" and whoever did, they got shot...

The only thing I am wondering is, why did he ask the question "do you believe in God?"?

I LOVE THIS SONG!!!
SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!
its about the columbine massacre. as like probably every1 knows..very sad.
umm buttt apparetly it wasn't cassie that was asked if she believed in god. She was christian and all but I don't think she was asked.. I know rachel was though..it says it in this book written by like her parents or someone close. called "RACHELS TEARS" AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING book! read it it helped so much in restoring my faith (i'm christian). Rachel was asked by 1 of the shooters Dylan or Eric "Do You Believe In God?" And she replied "You Know I Do." And he shot her.....i think she was amazingly brave and we should all follow her example.
i love the part in the song where it says "How Many Will Die?"
its sortta asking how many will be brave enough to stand up even if it gets them killed.
It is just a song really about how much you believe in it and if you would stand there at gun point, knowing what will happen if you say yes.....and saying it anyway.

There were several accounts as to what happened in the grassy null where
Rachel Scott and Richard Castaldo were eating lunch and also the library.
"Do you believe in God?" it seems, was asked to Rachel Scott when Dylan and Eric approached her. They shot her three times and then went to shoot other kids outside and came back as her and Richard were trying to crawl away-- and one of the Shooters grabbed Rachel by the hair and asked her if she still believed in God..She looked her killers straight in the eyes and said 'you know I do' and they put the gun to her head and pulled the trigger.
In the library, Cassie was hiding under a table with Emily Wyant who accounted that the exchange of words was never made, but others said it was..
It will probably remain unknown as maybe Emily didn't want to relive the horror, you know.....imagine Cassie dying like that.
I do believe that the killers made that exchange with Cassie....i mean just two years before her death she was headed down a path similar to her killers but changed. She lived completely lived for God.
