I heard it's about someone she knew that died. like "savoring this heart that's healing" she's still coping, she talks about angels but that would make sense with this interpretation too, sounds like it's about god too though, they both make sense to me. good song

I believe this song is about God, and is talking bout a spiritual renewal, seeking God, and the manifestation of his spirit speaking in Tongues, hence her tongue dancing behind her lips, and her feeling fire. She can feel the presence of God, All over her, leading her to the place of true comfort. This song speaks about a finding a closer relationship with God, surrendering to His will.

It is most likely talking about god, "I can feel you all around me" is refering to god being every where, and "thickining the air I am breathing" is meaning that god saves her, I mean last time I checked you can't really breathe with thin air. any way maybe before she really had no faith in god and maybe something drimatic happened to her where now she does and she is" holding on to what I am feeling" and she's "savoring this heart that's healing" or she is talking about a guy, even though I doubt it, that trully saved her from self destruction. Heres my theory,.. She has fallen in love so many times and they keep stomping on her heart and when SHE HAS GIVEN UP ALL HOPE someone actually comes in to her life that has trully fallen in love with she doesn't know or relly can't bring her self to beleive it in fear that it might happen again, but now she is certain that she can trust him and it feels good and she wants to hold the feeling FOREVER "I can feel you all around me, THICKINING THE AIR IM BREATING, HOLDING ON TO WHAT IM FEELING *SAVORING THIS HEART THATS HEALING*" I mean yu have to admit that it is logical.hey believe what you want

"MY HANDS ARE OUTSTRECTHED TOWARD YOU" is talking ABOUT WORSHIPPING GOD. flyleaf was a christian group before they went big AND got signed. and "MY TONGUE DANCES BEHIND MY LIPS FOR YOU" is talking about speaking I tongues. I went to camp with flyleaf's drummer's sister and that whole band is assembly of god-which is a branch of teh Pentecostal religion...who belive in speaking in tongues.

When I first heard this song I def thought it was about death. like someone she loved died and she is cooping with the loss. but I had no idea that flyleaf was a religious band. like I don't like listening to worship songs but fly leaf just makes it intense but at the same time something to relate too and I really really like that. anyways I can see how it's about God but I can also see it being about the death of a loved one.

Alright, y'all ready for this? This is my opinion, so...don't bash me... This song is about her feeling God's prescence all around her, especially when she is alone with God (hence, All Around Me) and His presence just brings her to life (hence, "I'm alive, I'm alive") and the color pouring down the wall...well, I took it as, before she found her Faith, her life was all in black and white, and then she found God, and her world came to life. I may be wrong, but this is still a beautiful song, either way. And I get to see them in concert in less than a week =)

Ok. im not saying that the people that say this song is about god are wrong. but think about it... why would her toungue be dancing behind her lips for god? but anyways.. when she says: "This fire rising through my being Burning I'm not used to seeing you I'm alive, I'm alive" it could mean that she hasnt seen someone in a long time, but when she finally does see them she feels alive agian. or it could mean that she know's she's alive, but doesn't feel alive without that person. and the part that says: "I can feel you all around me Thickening the air I'm breathing Holding on to what I'm feeling Savoring this heart that's healing" could mean that she still loves someone that left her and is surrounded by that person's memory where ever she goes or what ever she does. her being without that person is overwhelming. She's holding on to the memory and can't let go because the memory is all she has left of that person even though it could be killing her. "Take my hand I give it to you Now you own me All I am You said you would never leave me I believe you I believe" this part could mean that the person promised they would never leave her, but she feels like a fool for believing them. and if you listen to the song you can hear a hint of anger, frustration, or sadness in her voice on that part. at the end it says "savoring this heart that's healed" instead of "savoring this heart that's healing". which could mean that she's found a way to move on with her life.

Oh it's about God? I really had no idea. To me, when I first heard this song, I really had no clue what the song was saying. Then, after a few times of listening I wondered if it was about her getting raped by somebody and how it affected her. But then, someone said they had thought of it about being like someone greiving for a lost lover, and their memories about them. Which to me makes sense because there is a sentimental "air" in the song. And from then, I've found the song really sweet and meaningful.Like faith that even though they suffer, the person will never leave them despite death. Even if it is about god, that is my favorite way of interpreting it. And besides, I'm usually bad about interpretting songs to be religious. Like the song "Never Alone" by Barlow Girls. I didn't think that was about God either. Till I found out they were a religious group. Ah well. Whatever works in your head is what works in your own head.

The song is obviously about God. I believe she is singing about being lost in worship. In praising God you are letting go of urself and for that moment its just you and him. As far as being alive she means eternally thru the Jesus. When you worship God with all that's in you his spirit moves thru u, you can feel his presence. Its so powerful and unless you have a relationship with God you haven't experienced any of that. That's why some people don't understand the songs meaning.

I can see how everyone thinks this song is about god. It does make sense. except for the part about her tongue dancing behind her lips. That makes me think this song is more about longing for someone she cannot have. kind of sounds to me like she had someone but lost them and still loves them. She can still feel them and she's "holding on" to wat she's feeling. some songs are capable of having double meanings. If your religious then I can definitely see who that's where your mind would go.

This song is definitely about worshipping God. Its exactly how I feel when I have that perfect moment with my God when I realize how much he loves me and how much he does take care of me and I put my silly little issues aside. Nothing compares to that feeling. Its way better than any relationship. and yes not all flyleaf's songs are about God but this one is.

It's like when you know you need God and you're searching for Him and finally decide to accept Him so you are reaching for Him...and also how people lift thier hands when they praise. "I feel you on my fingertips" its like you are reaching for Him and you know He's there because you can feel His spirit. "My tounge dances behind my lips for you" means she is singing for Him. And The fire is like you are on fire for Him...you love Him so much you want to tell the world.

I believe this song is about her relationship with God. It so holy. It makes her feel truly "alive" because God is with her. She wants to savor his presence and she doesn't want to leave his presence. She has never felt like this. That is what the song is about. It's what we would feel if we see God.

I think it is about felling god around you. like in the music video when the paint is coming down all around her, the paint paint is like god and he is all around her. and how that felling of him (god) all around you is so good, so great that Lacey (the lead singer) wants you (everyone) to have that feeling too. you no how paint is really hard to get off.., well its like he well not leave you, he will always be here for you.

Ok...everyone...this song is about God...and its talking about how she lifting everything up to him and that she is praying to him "Tongue dances behind my lips for you" is talking about she is praying and speaking in what some Christians call speaking in tongues...."This fire rising through my being Burning I'm not used to seeing you" is talking about how she can feel the holy spirit coming down on her like a flame and consuming her " I'm Alive" is meaning that she is alive in Christ....because to Christians Satan means death....so God means life...to live again in him. And by the end of the song the last line...it says this "Savoring this heart that's healed" meaning that God healed her heart from maybe being broken by a ex. boyfriend or something like that maybe she has been lied or ect...and when she finally let God have it and gave him all the pieces he fixed it for her....a wise woman told me this "God can't fix a broken heart if you don't give him all the pieces" Thats my Interpretation of the song All Around Me....

This song is about Self Mutilation. It sounds like some kind of perverse relationship a cutter has with the act of cutting herself. I have watched Intervention on A&E and this song sounds like something those people who cut themselves say. They are in so much pain, the cutting releases blood and makes them feel alive. In her video, blood was streaming in the background. So the blood makes her feel "alive.". That is why her tongue dances behind her lips, and that is why she feels alone with her secret (that she cuts herself.) In the alternative, it also describes a perverse relationship with drugs. Either way, I see no way that this is symbolic of a relationship of GOD. That song, while it is a good one, gives me goose bumps. It is well written, but speaks of pain!

This song is about meeting, seeing, or having God in your life. The part of the song that really lets you know it's about God is where.. "Take my hand I give it to you Now you own me All I am You said you would never leave me I believe you I believe." God said that who ever believes in him will never leave them.
