This song is about being depressed and wanting to kill yourself

“I can’t begin to let you know just what I’m feeling”
“I think I’ll blow my brains against the ceiling”

He’s feeling depressed and suicidal

“the red ones make me fly and the blue ones help me fall”

He’s taking anti depressants or drugs to feel better

“think happy thoughts”

He’s trying to have positive thoughts because he doesn’t want to feel that way

Headfirst for halos is clearly about drug use between depressants and antidepressants.
"the red ones make me fly, and the blue ones help me fall."

it's also about suicide as the singer is thinking about getting out of it by killing himself.
"and I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling."

"just think happy thoughts" is saying to think of things to save yourself from the drugs and suicide.

Feel happy while reading about My Chem saving that many guys from suicide as if they were the last (and truly: only) bloody thing in this world that's no suicidal cause.

Headfirst for Halos is obviously about suicide. The intro sends out the most significant message (confusion!).

Pls don't mind but: "think happy thoughts" sounds ironic to me.

Well, I would like to credit the info of this interpetation to my.. School. O.O We had an officer come in and explain about how stimulants and tranquiliazers are balanced out.

This song definetely has to do with suicide, and drug abuse.

Hence;

"These red ones make me fly,
And the blue ones help me fall."

Red is referring to the stimulant, which excites the body, and makes it 'fly.' Blue is referring to the tranquilizer whish mellows out and slows down the body, and basically brings it down from a high. Stimulants and tranqulizers are often taken in together. Stimulant first, and then the tranquilizer to calm you down.

The line:

"And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling."

Is probably referring to suicide via a gun.

Well, that's my look on it!

Its all about drugs and suicide. The chorus line is about what he wants, and fantasizes about, but its not really happening.

I Think this song is about having too much pressure and wanting to kill yourself. "Lets go back to the day that starts it all" I think means "think back to the day I started to be suicidal." and "we'll fly home, you and i-" means "we will die together" And the part "Think happy thoughts" is him calming himself down at a point in which he is ready to kill himself. and the last one "think happ-whoo" is when he finally pulls the trigger and it is all over. and I also know from watching life on the murder scene that this song wasn't supposed to make it onto the album because Gerard wrote it in a deep depression or something like that
