I think it has to do with there "obsession" with death. And also vampires kick butt. And yea.

I think Gerard said something one time about vampires being used metaphorically...Oh yeah and this song owns you. By the way, the guys are not vampires.

Vampires don't exist. This song isn't about anything. The band just knows that if you write songs about wounds, blood, vampires, ect then assholes like you will think it's "deep" and buy their records. Just because it's not pop doesn't mean it's not trendy.

I really do believe that this is a song showing there obsession with death blood and vampires. And if they get me and the sun goes down into the ground And if they get me take this spike to my heart and has every thing to do with vampires. mmkk. don't test a true mcr fan bish!

vampires do exist. They work at dairy queen. gerard is talking about two cows being milked in this song. one cow looks at the other cow and is like "hey, hows it goin?". Then the other cow is like "dont think you can just come to the barn and act like nothing ever happened between us! you broke my heart!!!!" and the other cow is like "what are you talking about?" and the other cow says "oh, sorry, I had you confused with the farmer." you know what I'm sayin?????

jeez.. It's CLEARLY about a vampire in itself. The guy and the girl, the guy gets bitten by a vampire but he still won't go near her. He goes against other vampires to protect her

"i'll never let them hurt you, I promise"

but he doesn't like it.. Thus.. He wishes he were dead.

"And if they get me take this spike and
You put the spike in my heart"

and it's about being a vampire obviously in the first line.

"And if they get me and the sun goes down into the ground"

the sun going down is him dying, because, if you were in on the know of vampire myths, vampires burn or melt in the sun.

it could also be about people in the world, when you care about someone it is almost unlivable to know that they are hurt by people in the world.

"ill never let them hurt you, I PROMISE"

BY KATE AND ANGELINA.

It's about how stupid society is, and he doesn't want the jerks to change his friends, and he wants to protect them. but he wants his friends to bring him back if while protecting his friends, the jerks in society get to himself.

Who says that vampires don’t exist?

I think I agree with most of you, that it may be about society. But they do like vampires (squee) so it's not surprising to find vampiric content in any of their songs.

Vampires rule!!!

Gerard Way is asking this girl if she would ever hurt him even for important reasons.

I really dunno what it's about, that's up to you top decide. I just think it has to do with something else other than being a vampire, but being a vampire would totally be the shits.

It's about someone that thinks they'll get caught by the vampires

Ok guys, I understand how so many people have different opinions about this song. The song does not have only one meaning for the listener to take in and apply to everyday life, but it also tells a story, as does the entire album. This is the scene in the story when the vampires attack the town the two main characters live in, the famous Demolition Lovers. This is where the vampires confusion plays in. So yes, we are supposed to be having thoughts of vampires running through our heads.

This song is also about social vampires, the people who give us trouble daily. We all deal with them... They "suck" our energy and vitality (essentially, our life, but as in the metaphor the song uses, our blood) by being cruel and hateful to us. Blow jobs? Get real people.

I think the song is actually about a vampire in love with a human...the ending lines "can you stake my heart?" I think refer to "can you kill me to keep me from killing you"
