Lyrics:
Well they encourage all complete cooperation,
Send you roses when they think you need to smile.
I can't control myself because I don't know ho... (See the rest of these lyrics)

I think this song could be about how obsessed fans can be, and how they can want so much out of their idols and how MCR might feel that even though they do all they can its never enough for their fans or other people.
'Give them blood, blood, gallons of the stuff, give them all that they can drink and it will never be enough'
As if they are giving their very souls in their work, pouring out every ounce of them into what they do and how some people can still want more.
Might not be though. Just what I think.

Ok this is what I think but we'll probably never know unless they say, or the whole song could be random, but that's not their style.
Ok, Well they encourage your complete co-operation, send you roses when they think you need to smile.
Its sounds like a man who's life is being controlled by the media, "they encourage your complete co.." they want you to be a part of decisions (by making you think you made them when they did) "send you roses..." His image is being controlled, a constantly sad celeb isn't much fun after a while. "I can't control myself because I don't know how" He doesn't know how to control his own life, probably not being able to get out of the routine of everything being done for him. "But they love me for it honestly ill be here for a while" His media created image pleases the public, he'll be here for a while. "So give them blood, blood gallons of the stuff give them all that they could drink and it would never be enough" Whenever he makes his own decisions and puts his heart and soul into it its never enough. Either that or his real image which he loved and stuff wasn't enough for producers and people. "they can fix me proper with a bit of luck" He believes his past self really wasn't any good and hopes they can make him "better".
".... They adore me but its really quite alarming because I'm such an awful fuck" The public adore him but if they knew the real him they'd think he's an awful fuck. "im the kinda human wreckage that you love" This one was easy, the media loved to take a wreck and transform him.
The fact that it's about blood is most likely purely because if it wasnt it wouldnt be the horror-filled mcr we love!

In 'Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" they were going for the whole dead, killing, vampire type thing, I'm thinking that this was just a way for them to say "yeah we changed here but we're still the old band you know and love."

I also think this song is more literal, however I think he is using the term 'blood' to mean life, because blood is needed to live. They are saying give all their heart and soul and 'life' into their performances and committing their life to their fans.
It is merely my opinion though, tell me what you think...

My Chemical Romance didn't even write this song, it's from a play.

I think this is a bit of a general fame thing. All they seem to do is give the fans more and more, in this case songs/blood. But its never enough. It doesn't tell you to back off so I don't think he's having a go at people just pointing out the obvious.

Someone said something about the first 1.30 seconds or so being silent, well that is because it's a hidden track, so it's separated from the rest of the album. personally, this song always reminds me of those old silent movies even though it's not silent. anyone agree? or think I'm crazy? it's just the upbeat music and gerard's cute voice singing the catchy chorus!

This song is about the patient being killed by doctors and nurses

This song is about The Patient, (the main character of The Black Parade). "I'll be here for a while" Saying he knows he is going to die here. But while he was in the hospital they kept taking blood to run tests. He finally started to think of the nurses as Vampires. "I give you all that you can drink and it will never be enough" And at the end he states that the Vampires are loving the state he is in because they keep getting blood. "I'm the kinda human wreckage that you love"

Obviously none of you are familiar with a hidden track. It's just a fun little song that was inspired by the theme of the album, their just being smart alecs! yes, it might have something to do with the patient, but it's just a fun song that you can laugh at, you people take life too seriously!

I'm very surprised to see that not anyone has thought about the possibility of it being anti-war, I mean "encourage complete cooperation" they being the gov. want us to do what they tell us is important for the war, " I can't control myself cause I don't know how" the gov. Is becoming more and more controlling over our lives, because they know whats best for us and think we don't know, "they love me for it honestly ILL BE HERE FOR A WHILE" most definitely coming from a soldiers point of view because under current legislation the military have the right to extend the length of a soldiers deployment if he is active and his contract expires, "give them blood blood gallons of the stuff, give them all that they can drink and it will never be enough" meaning that no matter how many casualties and deaths they are still keeping the soldiers in harms way when they are making no progress so it seems that no matter how drastic the suffering is and the exponential amount of blood loss they will never pull them out

This may not be right. I think 'Blood' is about the media.
'I can't control myself because I don't know how, and they love me for it, honestly' - face it, famous people are always screwing up in front of the press. and the press love it.
'I gave you blood, blood... I gave you all that you could drink and it will never be enough' - no matter what happens, how much you give, the media are always thirsty for more.
I could give more examples but I've forgotten them.
(if you think this is rubbish, just bear in mind I am 12 and I am not sure about it myself)

This song is about them giving their fans everything, and fans always want more. It's a funny song. Anyway, I feel it derives from the saying "I gave you blood, sweat and tears. What more do you want?"
Wait until the songs sweat and tears come out!
^.^ :-D

It was just a little joke. Couldn't you tell by listening? MCR is saying they haven't forgotten their roots, even though they've changed. But I think it's amazing that Blood has more reviews than some of MCR's more powerful songs XD

I believe this song is about Gerard Way telling his fans that he's giving them all that they can listen to, and it will never be enough .
"I give them all that they can drink, but it will never be enough."

Someone told me this song is actually about record companies and how no matter how much you give them, it;s never enough and you keep giving anyways. The blood is just a metaphor.
