The I.V. and your hospital bed
This was no accident

This song is based on ryan's life growing up. His dad was an alcoholic who ryan had to take care of when he would "relapse" so camisado is his way of explaning and dealing with it all. The whole "sit back and relapse again" is because ryans dad would become sobber for awhile but then go back to his old habbits. "decorated emergency" deals with all the times ryan was called telling him that his dad was in the hospital again and needed to go get him. Thats where the whole "youve earned a place atop the icu's hall of fame".Also "this is the scent of dead skin on a linolieum floor" means that hospitals have those types of floors and ryan had to spend so much time in them and see so much that it fits into the song well. Then we have another important line. "the bruises and contusions will remind me what you did when you wake". This is ryan dealing with his fathers drinking while trying to start panic!. His and brendon's fathers didn't approve of them leaving college for music so even though ryan would do everything to help his dad get sobber when he'd wake up his dad would forget all the good things ry did for him and still try and kick him out of the house. So basically that's the main idea behind camisado.

Ok guys I know for a fact that this is the right meaning for Camisado
wikipedia supports this, definitions do, so does the song.
Camisado means "an enemy attack/assult at nightime"
Ryan Ross's father was an alcoholic, and would abuse him. This song is about what he went through as a kid.
"This was a therapeutic chain of events" as in this was bound to happen someday; his dads addicted to alcoholic.
His dad would hit him and he had to phone is own accident into the hospital (that I thought I called in)
"Can't take the kid from the fight, take the fight from the kid" they can't take Ryan away from these fights, they're bound to happen. They have to take is dad away from him.

The "hall of fame" thing is that Ryan is always in the hospital from the abuse.
on wikipedia, it tells about themes on "a fever you can't sweat out" and it tells about Ryan Ross battling with his alcoholic father as a child
in case any of you were wondering, Ryan's father is now no longer alive.

I'd love to hear your response to this! I'm not sure how this site works, but my sn is the same as my username here, tell me what you think =]

It's about Ryan's dad's alcoholism and Ryan's abuse.

"Can't take the kid from the fight, take the fight from the kid"

Get it?

This song's about Ryan Ross' alcoholic father.

I think most of the song is pretty self-explanatory but I'd a theory, it'd be cool if others would lemme know what they think!

You're a regular decorated emergency
Regular emergency= Ryan's dad's always in and out of the hospital, quite obvious

But decorated confused me a bit then I thought could this mean that Ryan's dad fell around a lot when he he was drunk, meaning he was decorated, i.e., cut and bloody!
