Panic! At The Disco - I Write Sins Not Tragedies Song Meanings Lyrics:
Oh, well imagine; as I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor,
and I can't help but to hear, no I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words.

This song is the last in the story.
It goes:
'lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off'
'but its better if you do'
'i write sins not tradgedies'
You'll notice that the end of But It's Better If You Do runs into the start of this pretty smoothly. The narrator [from how I see it] is the groom. He overhears the conversation between the brides maid and the waiter and is pretty upset. I mean. This is the woman he wants to marry and here they are gossiping about her in a pretty vicious manner.
He considers saying 'havent you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?'. but doesn't say it, notice that the lyrics say 'i'd chime in' as in, I >would< chime in. but he doesnt, because the situation should be handled with poise and rationality.
To be rational he decides to investigate these allegations. In the booklet that comes with the album there are some lyrics that arent sung. In particular it says "oh no. Her infidelity just spilled all over the floor. can somebody help her?".
so my guess is he found her out.
Yhe wedding is called off and the marriage is saved from itself. meaning that it didn't begin so he didn't have to go through the hurt of finding out years from now and ending the marriage badly.
Yhis is the bright side of the situation and thus 'calls for a toast'.
And if you want to get technical about the video. The circus folk fill up the side for the brides family. which I think shows that she doesn't come from a 'respectable' background.

Its Not From Either The Groom's, Waiter's, Or Brides POV.
Because The Groom wouldn't Be Calling His Bride A Whore, Nor Would The Bride Herself.
Since As Some Of Ryans Songs Started Out As A Story, I Think It'sJust From A Bystander's POV.
The Guest Is Pacing The Pews When He Over Hears The Brides Maid To The Waiter "What A Beutiful Wedding" Then He Thinks To Himself 'Yes, But What A Same THe Grooms Bride Is A Whore.'
-Indicating He Has Seen Or Heard Of Her Cheating.
At Some Point Before The Wedding, The Guest Leads The Groom To The Room Where The Bride Is Cheating, And Exclaims "Haven't You People Ever Heard Of Closing The God Damn Door?"
To Which The The Groom Says Sacasticly: "Oh Well Infact I, Mean Look At It This Way, Technicly Our Marrige Is Saved."

Well at the making of they say it´s just a wedding going on and there´s a big difference between the groom´s family and the bride´s family and the cicus people interrupting are trying to make the groom see the bride´s not good for him. Then the chaos starts... as they are talking about what the main concept of the VIDEO is like, i´m not sure this is much about the songs meaning. Sure, when brendon says it´s like the groom´s conscience it does, but I still wonder what that´s got to do with ryan, who wrote this song. what made him write a song about that theme? is it a mere statement about senseless marriages or was it him or someone of his acquaintance who was betrayed like that (same question with lying is th most..., though this has got such a heart-rending melancholy it must be written with true feelings, not?)help! I want to know what it is about...!:)

I believe the the groom is from the circus, and the ringleader is trying to tell him how his to be wife is cheating on him, so he sits this whole thing up.

I think the guy is pissed about tripping on an open door.
And Where it talks about pacing I think it means when you try and walk the pain off. Or so the little people told me.

I think that the song is about a man who finds out that his soon to be wife is cheating on him with one of the men at his wedding

I believe it is the groom's thoughts as he is getting married. I think this because of the video. It's about cheating and unfaithfulness toward the person you love.

I think that it's about some guy who is not exactly the best character in the book. He may be in the outside and he uses this to his advantage by doing bad/evil things to people he hates and no one ever thinks it was him because no one really knows him. Then he comes out of his cage and tells his enemies off and tells them about what he's done. So then he realizes that these people do the same things, but use their fame to cover their crimes.

I SOMEWHAT agree with this interpretation. I think much more can be derived from the video as to who the "singer" is.
In the video, a man comes and crashes the wedding. The couple freaks out; it seems as though it's tearing the groom up inside. The bride leaves, and a man in the back row follows her. The man who crashed the wedding, grabs the groom by the collar and forces him to follow his fiancee and the man who followed her. When they get to the outside of the chapel, he seems them kissing, and he looks crushed. The groom and the wedding crasher take a bow, and it turns out that the groom and the wedding crasher were the same person. The man who stopped the wedding was actually the grooms conscience, telling him that his bride was nothing more than a "whore".
The bridesmaid and the waiter are just metaphors.

This song is simply about: A woman soon to be married is cheating on her husband (soon to be) and gossip that reaches the husband during the wedding. Saving their marriage which was not official.

I think this is about the singer being an onlooker in, well almost a dream situation(not cause of the video).
The singer is really the grooms and brides for that matter voice of reasoning, as they both do not want to go ahead, however the groom is to 'chicken'.
The song makes references to what could be seen as the real and the 'now'(whats seen in video), for instance "No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poison rationality" 'poison rationality' as being what they were headed for; twisted logic, and skewed logic.
And obviously the twisted logic is their marriage

I think something else...I believe that the waiter represents the leader of the grooms life, and also the groom's conscience. When he says that she's a whore, it shows the groom's fear of his wife's possible betrayel. She doesn't want to go with the marriage because she knows that he knows, so she runs out of the area. Then when the groom finally breaks up with the future wife, he becomes the waiter, or in other words, the ringleader of his life.

It's obviously about a wedding, without question. But I'm going to take it from the video clip's point of view. Take the singer to be the best man who is in love with the bride. They might have had an affair behind the groom's back. He was probably so infatuated with the bride-to-be that he was sure that they would be together but by the sounds of it, it seems as if the wedding is going to go on as planned.
"Better to face these things with a sense of poise and rationality" suggests that the bride wants the security that the groom offers her and forget about the affair.
"Technically the marriage is saved" shows the frustration on the singer's part.

It is obviously set under the groom. Like he's pacing one of the bride's maids call his wife a whore and he is pissed! Plus at the end of the video he walks in on her and a mime or whatever making out, she has make-up all over her face! I Love This Song!

Ive heard from somewhere-
That the groom is part of some circus of some sort-
and that Brendon (Lead Singer) is the groom-
as you can see right at the end!
Might be wrong-
don't blame me plz

I think that the Singer knows about the brides affair, and that it's happened to him before. So in order to "Save" the marriage, he shows the groom that his fiance is cheating on him. Then the groom shows up in the top hat because it is his turn to "Save" a marriage much like this one. But that's just what I thought when I first saw the video.

Ok well I’d like to add to some of what others have said. This is a story and it is a wedding. It helps a lot if you watch the music video for the song, it’s greatly explained and it’s pretty much obvious. In any case. The narrator or the person who sings the song is actually an alter ego of the groom, he’s the ringmaster in the family, and the groom is his cousin or something of the family.
So he takes the groom outside were he sees his bride kissing another family member. *the groom’s family is part of a circus and the bride’s is a rich family. So there you have it. If you don’t believe me than watch the music video. You shouldn’t be disappointed and you can look up the making of it were they'll tell you the general meaning of the song and what it represents.

Ok this is pretty random, but maybe he's pacing and he trips throught the doorway in shock of what the waiter said and he's mad and all like "Haven't ou people ever heard of closing the *** door?" But then he's like "I should calm down, it's much better to face these kinds of thing with a sense of poise in rationality," because he doesn't want to embarrass himself or something. And who knows, maybe his fall hit the groom's head and knocked sense into him and "Saved the marriage."
I know it's very unprobable, but since when do music videos always have to do with the song?
Happy random day!!

The circus folk don't fill up the bride's side. They fill up the groom's side, which is empty at the beginning and the bride's side is full. Then something happens and the two sides stand up and starting mingling and dancing together.
